Japan Airlines (JAL) is pleased to announce that it will open the newly-renovated Sakura Lounge for domestic flights at Okinawa (Naha) Airport on February 28, 2017. The revamped lounge will deliver high quality and refined environment, by incorporating the new design based on the concept of “Japan’s appearance,” which had been applied for upgrades of the airline’s domestic lounges at Sapporo (New Chitose) Airport.

The JAL Group will continue to embrace new challenges to improve the customers’ convenience.

Basic Concept:

Based on the concept of “Japan’s appearance,” the lounge was designed by famous Japanese interior designer Ryu Kosaka, who designed JAL’s international lounges at Tokyo (Haneda) Airport and JAL’s domestic lounges at Sapporo (New Chitose) Airport. Overview of Facilities:

– The space of new Lounge was expanded approximately 20% larger than the previous lounge at Okinawa (Naha) Airport, and the number of seats has been increased to 85 (an additional 7 seats) to create a relaxing and comfortable environment.

– Most of seats with adjacent power outlets offer designed space to stow carry-on baggage. New seats have been designed to provide improved comfort and convenience.

– Art works produced by artists having close ties with Okinawa and unique local objects are added in various places to create an intimate atmosphere of Okinawa.

– A Security Check point for passengers on First Class and members of JMB Diamond and JGC Premier is newly set up.
