Japan Signs Its Second Distinctive Autograph Collection Hotel – The Mesm Tokyo Is Set to Open in 2020

The distinctive Autograph Collection brand announced the signing of its second independent hotel in Japan, mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection, which is set to open in 2020. The upcoming hotel is set to ‘mesmerize’ individualists with its exceptional design and thoughtful, spirited service – an experience from which inspired the hotel’s name. Slated to open in 2020, the hotel will occupy the 16th to 26th floor of the WATERS takeshiba main building, a multipurpose city complex that’s part of the Takeshiba Waterfront Development Project.

With a rapid growth in inbound international travelers to Japan exceeding over 30 million last year, NIPPON HOTEL Co., Ltd., there is a lot of opportunity for modern, next-generation hotel experiences. mesm Tokyo is an original Japanese hotel concept developed by NIPPON HOTEL and Marriott International that will deliver unique, enriching Japanese experiences, infused with Autograph Collection’s brand philosophy of ensuring that this hotel experience is exactly like nothing else.

Further blending with the hotel’s “Tokyo Waves” concept, guests will encounter representations of life in Tokyo,  with connections to the latest trends in fashion, art and technology. “WATERS takeshiba will be completed as a focal point for culture and arts, and we are delighted to collaborate with Marriott International, leaders in travel experiences to open mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection, as a part of this exciting project,” said Masayuki Satomi, Chief Executive Officer, NIPPON HOTEL Co., Ltd. “What we have in common with the brand is that we are committed to offering guest experiences that are unique to each destination. This exciting project will see beautifully crafted spaces merge with ambitious talents, ensuring momentous guest stays.”

mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection features 265 excellently appointed rooms and suites. The hotel is designed with modern artistry in mind and paired with local influences. The hotel will offer two distinctive food and beverage options, including all-day dining concept Chef’s Theater, which is inspired by the Kabuki theatre, and the hotel’s bar & lounge Whisk. The hotel will also feature Club Lounge and Fitness Center, as well as a banquet room to cater for business needs. Pioneering as a high-end contemporary style hotel, mesm Tokyo offers a wide variety of touch points featuring the latest trends in Tokyo. For the hotel’s amenities, mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection will be collaborating with various Japanese brands including BULK HOMME Co., Sarutahiko Coffee and many more.

mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection will be located at Tokyo’s bayside, situated an approximately six-minute walk from Hamamatsu-cho Station. The hotel embraces attractive views of Hama-rikyu Gardens, a traditional Japanese garden originally created for shogunate in the Edo era,  as well as dazzling Tokyo city views. Guests will also be near entertainment, art and culture, while also appreciating the natural environment and surrounding greenery.
