Japanese Travel Booking Site JAPANiCAN.com to Hold 10th Anniversary Campaign

JAPANiCAN.com, a Japanese travel booking site launched in April 2007, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. Run by i.JTB Corp. of Tokyo, the e-commerce business leg of the JTB Group, it specializes in inbound tourism to Japan. To express our gratitude for our customers’ support over the years, we will hold a site-wide campaign from July 10 offering up to 10% discounts on hotels and “ryokan” inns and a 5% discount on Sunrise Tours, a brand of local tours.

The predecessor to the JTB Group, the Japan Tourist Bureau, was established in 1912, when Toshio Kinoshita of the then Japanese Government Railways advocated “inbound tourism” as a means for Westerners to better understand Japan’strue nature. This resonated with Kinoshita’s immediate superior and Vice President of the company, Seijiro Hirai, and with the cooperation of the Japanese Government Railways, the Japan Tourist Bureau was born. This philosophy continues to live in our DNA as we endeavor every day to provide a more fulfilling stay in Japan for all overseas visitors.
