Jaspersoft Helps AirIT Run the World’s Airports

Jaspersoft, the intelligence inside applications and business processes, today announced that AirIT, the leading provider of innovative information technology products and services to the air transportation industry, has deployed Jaspersoft to power PROPworks® Business Intelligence software.

PROPworks® is a software tool that allows some of the world’s largest airports, including Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) and Seattle Airport (SEA), to track revenue and leasing information for commercial outlets at airports to maximize profitability.

Jaspersoft enables AirIT airport customers to easily analyze their operational data in a matter of minutes or hours as opposed to days or weeks, as was previously the case – and to do so without having to rely on developers to assist with building reports. This self-service model has allowed AirIT to extract itself from proprietary reporting products and has reduced overall costs between $20,000 and $30,000 for each customer.

“Although many standard metrics are required in this industry, each airport has its own unique set of specific metrics, many of which are completely outside the box,” said Danny Negron, Business Systems Delivery Manager of AirIT. “In the past, that meant that our development team would have to write custom reports at each customer site, an extremely time-consuming process. Jaspersoft has eradicated that issue entirely, and saved a great deal of time and resources for us in the meantime; our customers now have the flexibility to self-serve and create their own reports quickly and efficiently.”

Approximately 5.5 million passengers go through Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) each month. AirIT enables LAX – and 100 other airports and 60 other airlines – to manage their operations, passenger processing and business system needs with decision-making and compliance reporting.

“Airports, airlines and seaports have complex operations and unique analytics needs that required a significant investment from AirIT’s development team,” said Jim Bell, chief marketing officer for Jaspersoft. “Using Jaspersoft, they were able to put analysis tools in the hands of their customers to deliver a self-service solution that results in faster answers faster and reduced costs. It’s a great example of how analytics delivered in the context of an application can drive significant value and save money at the same time.”
