JetBlue Airways today added a once daily nonstop service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

On May 1, additional nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale will commence, increasing JetBlue’s offering to two daily flights between the U.S. and Trinidad and Tobago. To celebrate the airline’s newest route, flights from New York to Port of Spain are on sale from $169 one way (a) for travel between March 13 and June 12, 2014 (blackout dates April 9, 2014 through April 29, 2014). Tickets must be booked by March 3, 2014.

“We are excited to continuously expand our network in the Caribbean. We now offer nonstop service to 25 destinations in the region with up to 200 daily flights to, from and within the Caribbean. We are pleased to provide customers with JetBlue’s award-winning service, while also lowering fares to Trinidad and Tobago,” said JetBlue President Robin Hayes. “With a large diaspora in New York City and South Florida, our new service will connect Trinidadians to family and friends in the U.S. This new route will also provide convenient service for those traveling for pleasure.”

“We are pleased to welcome Jet Blue and its award-winning service to Trinidad and Tobago, as it will provide additional travel options to both the business community as well as the leisure traveller to and from the U.S,” said Stephen Cadiz, Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Transportation.

Port of Spain is the 84th city in JetBlue’s route network. The nonstop service to Port of Spain from Fort Lauderdale starts on May 1, the same day the airline will also launch Fort Lauderdale – Montego Bay, Jamaica; Fort Lauderdale – Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Newark – Santiago, Dominican Republic (b).
