Jetstar is under fire again – this time for cancelling flights and stranding two 12 year old boys.
Claire Stephenson told 9News.com.au that her son Lachlan and his friend Tyler, also 12, were left stranded for nine hours in Sydney Airport today (Sunday) after the carrier abruptly cancelled five flights.  Mrs Stephenson called the Jetstar call centre and was told the cancellation was due to operational reasons. (Jetstar said that) because they have a policy on their website that children can travel independently from 12 years of age, it is expected that they can manage the situation, she told 9News. A Jetstar spokesperson confirmed that five flights from Sydney Airport had been cancelled due to weather conditions, crew sickness and airport curfews.
