Jenuesse Global, one of the world’s youngest but fastest growing direct selling networks, will fly over 8,000 members and executives worldwide to Thailand to attend its first international meeting in ASEAN to be held from 3-6 October 2013 at Royal Cliff Beach Resort, Pattaya.

The meeting is a clear proof of success of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB)’s attractive campaign to boost large-scale meetings for incentives in the country.

9DA7B0B8CF043D67F1E80E7EBEA1C1DD1Mr. Scott A. Lewis, Chief Visionary Officer and President of Asia Pacific, Jeunesse Global, said, “Jeunesse Global has experienced enormous growth, especially in the Southeast Asian region, which is expanding higher than the average global expansion rate. In this region, Thailand is the top performer with the fastest growth rate among its neighbors; a double digit growth since our launch in the country back in 2011.

“Thailand is our top choice in considering places for our first international annual meeting in this region. Pattaya is the right destination thanks to its location being close to Bangkok, its full range convention and exhibition facilities as well as various activities that support large group of visitors. Our network and executives have also been impressed by the high quality, friendly and efficient services along with Pattaya’s scenic view. We believe that all our executives and members will be very happy, energized and inspired to further drive Jeunesse Global towards greater success.”

Jeunesse Global is one of the world’s fastest growing and highly successful direct selling networks with operations in 85 countries nationwide and 128% sales growth in the past year. The company also ranked 3rd in on the list for Top Percent Growth in 2012 in the United States.

In Thailand, Jeunesse launched its business in 2011, making Thailand the first Jeunesse operations in Southeast Asia. Currently, Jeunesse has a large base of 45,000 executives and members under its network across the country.

According to the Thai Direct Selling Association’s report, ASEAN’s direct selling industry has experienced as high as 9.7% growth in 2012, which is above global average of 5.4%. In Thailand, the country’s 70 billion baht industry accounted for 6.22% of the global direct selling industry and saw 7-10% growth in the past few years.

“Our decision to choose Thailand for this inaugural international meeting was also based on the attractive offer and support from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau. We have received very good financial support, information, advices and cooperation in many areas, making it easy for us to arrange a mega convention for more than 8,000 people from every corner in the world,” said Mr. Scott A. Lewis.

Ms. Vichaya Soonthornsaratoon, Director of Meetings Industry Department, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, said, “The first global meeting of Jeunesse Global to be held in Thailand is an evidence of our “Mega Events … Sustainable Challenge” campaign’s success launched earlier this year. The campaign is designed to promote mega corporate events in Thailand. We expect this event to generate 640 million baht to the country.

“The Mega Events … Sustainable Challenge” campaign was launched earlier 2013. So far, we have welcomed 8 companies under this campaign. We offer both of financial subsidy and other assistances to those organizers of such events. The campaign not only supports corporate businesses but also promotes overall economic growth and meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition, or MICE industry, as well as tourism and related industries. In addition, the country’s image as Thai hospitality and great potential to become the regional hub for MICE in Asia Pacific will be reinforced,” said Vichaya.

The “Mega Events … Sustainable Challenge” targets corporate clients and organizations who are looking for a destination for their mega events with over 1,000 attendants and lasting for at least 3 consecutive nights in Thailand. Under this campaign, TCEB will offer financial support of one million baht when an organization makes a contract with a local Thai organizer for event management, or use a certified ‘Green Venue’ or has a CSR activity included in the event program in Thailand.

The MICE industry has always played a key role in driving the broader economy, earning revenues of approximately 80 billion baht or about 2.66 billion U.S. dollars per year. I believe that the “Mega Events…Sustainable Challenge” campaign, as well as our many other market promotion activities will help drive further MICE sector growth. In 2014, TCEB forecasts growth of 5 percent in MICE travelers, to a total of 987,000 visitors by year-end, with revenues up 10 percent to 96.9 billion baht, or USD 3.26 billion,” concluded Ms. Vichaya.

During the 2013 fiscal year, from October 2012 to August 2013, Thailand welcomed 993,072 MICE travelers, with revenues of over 86,280 billion baht (US$ 2.87 billion). Top MICE visitors were from the conventions industry (318,663 visitors), followed by incentives travelers (247,888 visitors), corporate meetings (237,701 visitors) and exhibitions (188,820 visitors).
