Johnnie Walker Blue Label Releases Trailer For The Gentleman’s Wager Ii And Spreads The Joy At Pop Up Store At Sogo

JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, the leading luxury Blended Scotch whisky releases the trailer for The Gentleman’s Wager II: a short film about the joy of giving and how far it can take you, starring Oscar-nominated actors Jude Law and Giancarlo Giannini along with acclaimed Chinese actress Zhao Wei.

 The trailer is a teaser to the much-anticipated short film, to be launched globally on 31 October 2015, with its Hong Kong premiere slated for the 4 November 2015. This new film from JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, directed by British director Jake Scott of Ridley Scott Associates, who shot the first film, also features cameos from Formula 1 heroes, Mika Häkkinen and McLaren Honda F1 Driver Jenson Button.

 The Gentleman’s Wager II tells the story of two men who enter a wager over a priceless vintage car, the stunning Delahaye 135S classic racing car, which is not only the “trophy” for the wager but also a Walker heirloom, having been owned by the family since the late 1930s. As we follow Law’s efforts to win, we see it is only through the gratitude he shows people along the way who help him, and the joy this brings, that he is able to progress and succeed. 

 To celebrate this joy along with the debonair style of the film’s leading actors, JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL pays tributes to Hong Kong’s very own style setters by inviting them to part with personal items that are fundamental to their form at a “Gentlemen’s Essentials” exhibition, which will be revealed at the film’s premiere at Loft 22, California Tower, on 4 November 2015.

 Curated by the world’s leading whisky brand and supported by MR PORTER, the “Gentlemen’s Essentials” exhibition will each include a bottle of blue along with “can’t live without” personal items of barrister, businessman and philanthropist, Brandon Chau; foodie and entrepreneur, Xuan Mu of Maximal Concepts; the man behind Taste food festival, Simon Wilson; the force behind Rupert Sanderson Asia and the creative prodigy behind his own accessories brand, Bertrand Mak; celebrity session hair stylist, Marco Chan and JOHNNIE WALKER brand ambassador, Tom Jones.

 JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL continues to spread the joy with the launch of its new pop up store at SOGO Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. From now until the 3 November (SOGO TST) and 10 November (SOGO Causeway Bay), customers will receive a complimentary pair of JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL crystal glasses upon purchase of a bottle of Blue Label; tickets to the short film premiere and cocktail party are also available to those that buy four bottles or more.

 JOHNNIE WALKER has always stood for personal progress. Its new Keep Walking campaign – Joy Will Take You Further – was launched in September and challenges the idea that hard grind is the only way to succeed, instead showing that joy fuels progress and that gratitude is the highest expression of joy.

 The trailer gives a taste of what’s in store for the second instalment of the Gentleman’s Wager film, as the three lead stars find themselves in the picturesque vistas of Italy and Monaco. Commenting ahead of the launch, Law says: “The Gentleman’s Wager II evocatively captures how the act of giving and expressing gratitude can deliver great joy.
