Joy To The Hills! Beverly Hills Kicks Off The Holiday Season With Annual Rodeo Drive Lighting Ceremony
Beverly Hills will transform into a winter wonderland for the holiday season, offering festive events, stunning décor and holiday cheer for all. The season begins with the City’s annual Rodeo Drive Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, November 22 at 6:00 pm. Event attendees will enjoy the lighting of Rodeo Drive’s 42 palm trees, an appearance by Jazz vocalist Molly Ringwald, an immersive light show choreographed to a custom holiday mix by DJ Michelle Pesce, a dance preview of Debbie Allen’s The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, live music performed by the Beverly Hills High School marching band, a visit from Santa Claus, snow on Rodeo Drive and more. The highly anticipated ceremony will close down Rodeo Drive and is free and open to the public for all to enjoy.
Rodeo Drive will also be the destination for the most sophisticated shopping in Southern California, as the largest names in fashion, from Chanel, Dior and Valentino to say the least, reveal their holidaythemed windows and latest collections. Two Rodeo will also come alive for holiday shoppers, offering 3-D Paintscaping Light Shows, holiday carolers, visits with Santa Claus and live music, from classical to jazz, throughout the holiday season. Beverly Drive, Brighton Way and Department Store Row will also be top locations to find the perfect gifts for loved ones, offering a wider range of retail items for everyone on the holiday list. For those looking for more casual gifts such as fruits, jams and totes for the family, shoppers will enjoy a stop at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market, held regularly on Sundays.
Festive events will beckon both Beverly Hills residents and guests as visits and photos with Santa at The Paley Center for Media, as well as tours of Beverly Hills with Mrs. Claus on the seasonal Jolly Trolley are available during the month of December. As an added treat, visitors can also enjoy holiday snacks and a screening of iconic holiday television specials for free at The Paley Center for Media.
The historic Greystone Mansion will also offer a cheerful holiday event for those who enjoy Christmas carols on Sunday, December 13, 2015. The Christmas Matters Holiday Carolers will perform favorite holiday songs in the Mansion’s historic Living Room, followed by a light buffet lunch or a light dessert reception, depending on the performance time. The Wallis Center for the Performing Arts will hold a number of holiday musical performances and cabaret shows during the month of December, such as Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra: Holidays. No Ice; Melissa Manchester: Joy; and Our Lady J: A Winter Solstice Celebration.
The hotels in Beverly Hills are also getting into the holiday spirit during the month of December, including The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows; The Beverly Hilton; Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel; L’Ermitage Beverly Hills; Montage Beverly Hills and Peninsula Beverly Hills. Guests of these iconic hotels will enjoy seasonally-inspired cocktails and desserts, holiday gift cards, holiday menus and more.
