The world’s aspiring Chief World Explorers have just nine days to finish up their 60-second video submissions to travel website  Jauntaroo  to be considered for the “ Best Job Around the World .”  Applications close September 15, 2013.

In the last few weeks, the job search has become a worldwide phenomenon with hundreds of media articles and blog posts appearing in dozens of countries around the globe.

PanvimanEntries are welcome from anywhere in the world, however the successful applicant must speak and write English fluently and be at least 18 years old.  Al Roker and Mel B raved about the opportunity on NBC’s Today show.Condé Nast Traveler said it’s “probably the best job of all time.”   Forbes Magazine called it “possibly the best job ever”.

The successful Chief World Explorer (CWE) candidate will visit as many as 50 destinations, all expenses paid, including Berlin, Calistoga, Costa Navarino, Fort Worth, the Maldives, Nassau-Paradise Island, St. Lucia, and Puerto Rico’s San Juan, Ponce and Aguadilla.  The CWE will be paid $100,000 in salary to share their travel experiences via webisodes and social media.

“We’ve had more than 1200 submissions come in over the last couple of weeks,” said Tom Wilson, Jauntaroo’s Chief Commercial Officer.  “And they’re coming in faster as the clock runs out.  We’re already reviewing candidate videos and there are many impressive entries.  Narrowing to our Top 50 Candidates will be a struggle.”

Applicants must apply at by posting a 60-second video explaining why they should be chosen.  For more information, applicants can watch Jauntaroo’s video on the program.  Family and friends can show support by “liking” candidates’ profiles and videos. Jauntaroo will announce the top 50 candidates and the final five will be invited to in-person interviews.

Jauntaroo, who call themselves ‘vacation matchmakers,’ will be utilizing their matchmaking skills to find the right cultural fit for the role.  Energy and enthusiasm are a plus.

Jauntaroo donates $1 for each booking made through their site to “Travel With A Cause,” its philanthropic initiative supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to education, health, well-being and, of course, VolunTourism.  With their hire of the CWE role, the company is stepping up its efforts to make giving back a consideration for world travelers.

Each destination hosting the successful applicant will nominate their own program of VolunTourism activities.  Whenever the destination does not outline a program, Jauntaroo will rely on sources like its partner Live Different to recommend activities during the visit.

Jauntaroo, which launched in 2011, is the only travel website where you don’t have to know where you want to go on vacation, but rather what you want to do. Most travel websites only help travelers who know exactly where they want to go.  Jauntaroo recommends travel destinations tailored to travelers’ interests and budgets. Travelers can also utilize the “Quick Find” search box for easy access to destinations and activities.

From the prioritized list of natural search results, visitors view and become familiar with individual destination pages that provide a wealth of information including original descriptions, images, “Best Known For” activities, featured accommodations, to-do items and user reviews.
