Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has released its new brochure India and the Orient, taking full advantage of sixteen countries with a range of new focuses and travel styles. In India, A&K highlights the spice-laden markets, opulent palaces, beach temples, desert forts, and flavoursome cuisine. In the Orient A&K’s portfolio presents luxury access through China, Southeast Asia, Japan, Mongolia and Central Asia. Whether you are travelling to India or elsewhere in the Orient, expect your journey to deliver on the high standards that is quintessential to A&K.

There is Chinese Opera mask painting, introductory Mandarin lessons, cooking, kite making, movie nights and early morning Tai Chi.

Travellers seeking the best of Southeast Asia will want to consider the two-week ‘Indochina Escapade’. This journey combines Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, offering a rewarding experience with ancient relics, cultural insights, delectable cuisine and unparalleled landscapes. Elegant luxury hotels are included such as Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi and Park Hyatt Saigon. Prices from $8,245 per person.

In Vietnam, a new five-day extension to the former French hill station of Sapa has been added and there are new stopovers in Bangkok and Hong Kong for travellers flying with Cathay Pacific. For families and multi-generational travellers, there are some magical suggestions in the region including hot air ballooning in Sri Lanka, cooking classes in India and biking in Vietnam. There are also ideas for special milestone celebrations like booking out an exclusive seaside villa in Thailand or taking a scenic flight over Mt Everest.

A&K believes passionately that travel should both respect the natural environment and benefit the indigenous peoples whose lands we visit. The Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), first established in Africa, extends to India and the Orient. In India, AKP supports two school projects Deepalaya in Delhi and Hansraj in Udaipur. In Sri Lanka, AKP supports Project Leopard, which aims to protect the leopard population of Yala by reducing human-leopard conflict in nearby communities. In Cambodia, Sam’s Brothers Clean Water Project also receives AKP support and constructs wells providing villages with access to clean water. All of these projects can be included for visiting A&K guests and a donation to AKP is made on behalf of every A&K guest travelling.
