JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong is proud to announce the launch of JW Café, its brand new all-day dining restaurant.
Following hot on the heels of the successful Flint Grill & Bar, JW Café is the latest food & beverage innovation at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, positioning the hotel as among the very best in town for dining.
JW Café occupies the space that was until recently the already popular Marriott Café, but takes it up several notches in terms of food quality, ambience and style. The café seats 216 guests and boasts a private dining room that seats 12 as well as a unique semi-private dining space with commanding views over Hong Kong Harbour for 10 persons.
JW Café’s warm contemporary interiors showcase a Hong Kong-inspired design that exudes a modern, yet casual residential feel. The interior design was created by local firm MOK Design and Associates, and boasts a number of contemporary and trendy furnishings from the artistic cherry sculpture at the reception desk, which enhances the arrival experience, to the intimate lighting and different mood hues which radiate energy and warmth.
Stretching across the walls of the restaurant is a large spot-lit black and white image of Victoria Harbour. With the use of vertical glass slots and dramatic lighting, the illusion of a 3-dimensional window is created, bringing the cityscape to life. Meanwhile in the private dining room, yet another reference to the café’s home city is the installation of organic wooden blocks set into the exposed concrete wall to resemble a map of Hong Kong, combined with dramatic lighting that lends contrasting shadows on the wall, the private dining room becomes an inviting focal point of JW Café.
Helming the kitchen is Executive Sous Chef, Tony Wong; who brought Marriott Café to new heights and rave reviews for his culinary inventions and delicious creations, in addition to the numerous awards for best buffets in town. With 25 years of experience under his belt, Chef Tony is a veteran in Asian, Chinese and Western cuisines and together with his talented culinary team, they will continue to present fresh, simple and high quality dishes to the menus at JW Café.
One of the main features at JW Café is the buffets, offering discerning diners a wide array of international and local cuisines from 11 dazzling show kitchens that use only the highest quality ingredients. The buffet stations include a Shanghai Appetisersection, a Sushi Bar, a Noodle Bar, Western selections, a Dessert corner, and a Cold cuts and Salad counter. Also included are the signature Chinese specialties which offer premium dishes such as Braised Fish Maw with Supreme Sauce; Braised Sea Cucumber with Superior Oyster Sauce; Steamed Grouper with Crab Roe; Baked Stuffed Crab and E-fu Noodle with Boston Lobster Claw.
While the dinner buffet provides a more extensive culinary offering, and additional premium live seafood, freshly cooked daily; from Abalone with Shiitake Mushroom; Boston Lobster; Snow Crab Legs; Mathew Crab; Mussels, Greenland Red Prawns to Sea Whelks. Also available is a weekend afternoon tea buffet, which offers a number of delectable Asian and Western favourites including home-made Portuguese Egg Tarts; Cupcakes; Dim Sum Selections; Scones with Clotted Cream and Whipped Cream; Linguine with Lobster Claw and Button Mushroom; Crispy Cheese and Ham, and JW Café’s very own Hong Kong Opera Cake.
