JW Marriott Hotel Macau’s Man Ho Chinese Restaurant Dishes Up A Hairy Crab Galore

Man Ho Hairy Crab 01_lower resLate Autumn is not only the perfect season to take in the splendid natural scenery of Lake Taihu, it is also the best time of the year to enjoy the abundant harvest of delicious Hairy Crabs that the third largest freshwater lake in China has to offer. Located at the 1/F of JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant is bringing Lake Taihu’s seasonal delicacy to Macau’s tables with 12 limited-time Hairy Crab dishes, which will be available from October 16 through until November 30, 2015.

Lake Taihu’s Hairy Crabs are world-renowned for their smooth, velvety innards and sweet flesh. Chef Andy Ng, Executive Chinese Chef of Man Ho Chinese Restaurant explains, “While the innards are indeed very fragrant when enjoyed on their own, when we incorporate the skillfully-extracted crabmeat into a creamy crab butter, both the flavors and textures of the Hairy Crab are elevated to a new level. We call this ‘Crab Roe’ in Cantonese cuisine and I have used different fine ingredients to bring out the best of this exquisite mélange in my special menu.”

Man Ho Chinese Restaurant is dedicated to providing innovative, intuitive and crafted dining experiences with the freshest ingredients that are sure to leave everlasting memories for guests. Guests can look forward to Chef Andy’s giant Crab Meat & Roe Dumpling “Crab Xiao long bao”, which boasts a moderately-thick dough to hold up a delicious concoction of Hairy Crab, minced pork and broth. Weighing in at approximately the size of 3 regular dumplings, the Xiao Long Baos are steamed to perfection in individual bamboo dim sum baskets and served piping-hot, straight from the kitchen.

Guests will be pleasantly surprised when they take a bite into the chewy Deep-fried Minced Shrimp Balls with Crab Meat & Roe, as each bite reveals a golden-colored, savory Hairy Crab filling that will burst in their mouths. Other signature dishes from the limited-time Hairy Crab menu include Crab Meat & Roe Wrapped with Egg White Sheet, Home Made Bean Curd Braised with Crab Meat & Roe and Pumpkin Soup with Crab Meat & Roe & Millet.
