Kate Ritchie reveals why the Barossa is perfect for a lastminute getaway

Of these bookings, Head of Marketing Communications, Kirsty La Bruniy said the spontaneous South Australian escape is proving popular.

“With 43 per cent of flight bookings to Adelaide made within a week of travel[2], South Australia is firmly establishing itself as a desirable short-break destination for those looking for a lastminute getaway,” said Kirsty.

“We’re all for embracing spontaneity. If life throws you the chance for a quick getaway and you catch yourself looking longingly at your overnight bag, don’t ignore it. Give that bag what it wants, loads of clothes, and head South Australia’s way,


“If you only have a few days, we recommend ‘getting your wine on’ in the Barossa Valley. Enjoy strolling through gorgeous countryside, swilling award winning wines and indulging in delicious local produce – all only 45 minutes drive from Adelaide,” Kirsty added.
