The world’s leading travel search engine, KAYAK, is opening its first Asia Pacific office in Hong Kong to fuel growth and drive business in the region. Since entering Asia in 2013, KAYAK APAC has seen strong growth rates in volume and revenue as more and more travelers across the region turn to KAYAK to help plan and manage their travel.

KAYAK currently operates more than 40 international sites – 12 of them in Asia Pacific – including Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.

“As KAYAK continues to establish itself as a major player in the travel industry in APAC, opening a dedicated office for the region will support our growth and allow us to better serve our users and partners locally,” said Keith Melnick, President, KAYAK.

“The talent pool in Hong Kong combined with its accessibility from our key markets globally, made it a clear choice for our first regional hub in APAC.”

APAC is already on track to become the world’s largest digital travel sales market next year. That, coupled with consumers’ voracity for best-in-class mobile solutions and e-commerce, makes the region a strategic area of focus for a company like KAYAK.

KAYAK was launched in the United States in 2004 and today, processes 1.5 billion searches annually for flights, hotels, rental cars, vacation packages and things to do.  Unlike an online travel agency, KAYAK searches hundreds of other sites to show travelers the information they need before they book.  The site also offers a variety of travel planning and trip management tools including Price Forecast, which offers travelers a recommendation to “buy” or “wait” to purchase a flight based on historical data and Trips, a free itinerary management tool.

In addition to opening a regional hub in Hong Kong, KAYAK also opened an office in Miami this month to support the company’s growth in Latin America.  KAYAK is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut and has offices in Cambridge, Concord, Miami (USA), Zurich (Switzerland), Berlin (Germany), and London (England) and is currently hiring in every office around the world.  To learn more visit
