South Sea Cruises is excited to announce a restructure of it’s wider Sales & Marketing team with newly created senior roles appointed.

Alyssa Field has been appointed to the role of General Manager – Global Sales responsible for all international markets with the exception of Asia. Alyssa has been an integral part of the South Sea Cruises team since joining the company as Business Development NZ in 2017 before quickly taking on both the Australian and North American markets. In the expanded role, Alyssa will further be responsible for managing key relationships with trade partners across her existing portfolio but also now responsible for our trade partners in the UK & Europe. The international sales team based across NZ, Australia and the UK will report into Alyssa with a newly created Global Sales Coordinator position to be established in support of the team and our customers. Alyssa will continue to be based in South Sea Cruises’ Auckland office when not in market.

Loretta St Julian-Ooms has been appointed to the Denarau based role of General Manager – Fiji & Asia Sales. Loretta who also joined South Sea Cruises in 2017, will continue to lead the Fiji based sales team and manage all key relationships with our domestic trade partners & PCO’s. Loretta will also now look after the Asian markets, primarily through the Fiji based ITO’s but also directly with wholesale markets where applicable. Since commencing with South Sea Cruises, Loretta has provided the business with an exceptional level of sales leadership and professionalism in the Fiji domestic market and will only continue to do so in the expanded role. To further support Loretta and the Fiji based sales team a Senior Business Development Executive position has been created and currently being recruited for.

South Sea Cruises CEO Brad Rutherford “is delighted to have finalized the restructure of the company’s Sales department and appoint two outstanding people in both Alyssa and Loretta as internal appointments. Both are very experienced and extremely well respected in market by our trade partners and with outstanding brands and products to promote across the South Sea Cruises business, both will provide the leadership, strategy and service levels required in moving South Sea Cruises forward and also to support the wider sales team in doing so”.

In addition to the two appointments above, South Sea Cruises are now recruiting for an Auckland based General Manager – Marketing role to develop and implement the global marketing strategy across South Sea Cruises’ various products and brands including Blue Lagoon Cruises, Awesome Adventures Fiji, Malamala Beach Club and Vinaka Fiji.

All three of the above General Manager roles will report directly into the CEO as part of the senior management team.

In announcing these new positions, Brad also acknowledged the outstanding contribution of current Director of Sales & Marketing; Wayne Deed who has chosen not to stay on as part of the revised structure and finishes at the end of May. Brad commented that “Wayne departs the business having contributed immensely to the success of South Sea Cruises over the past two and half years. Wayne delivered significant outcomes for the business and our brands including the delivery of Malamala Beach Club which was awarded the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Award for Best Destination Marketing in only its first full year of operation”.
