The Kingdom Property Matchrace Thailand Championship is the premier event of its kind in the region and attracted 11 international teams when recently held in perfect sailing conditions, with Singaporean Maximilian Soh beating compatriot Justin Liu in the final.

It is also the latest in a long line of sailing initiatives supported by Kingdom Property, including sponsoring a young sailors development programme at Royal Varuna and supporting Kamolwan Chanyim (Bam), who is bidding to represent Thailand at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and who competed recently in the Singapore Youth Sailing Championships.

Kingdom Property Chief Executive Officer Nigel Cornick said: “Sailing is a fantastic sport and it is great to see the young teams compete and strive for the goals to which they aspire. Pattaya is a perfect sailing destination, convenient and close to Bangkok, and nowhere is this better than at the venerable Royal Varuna Yacht Club.

“We are delighted to be the title sponsor of this event. It a very professionally run and managed event and certainly in line with our values as a company to offer quality without compromise. As a destination Pattaya is growing in stature and this is fine example of the kind of active lifestyle activities individuals and families can enjoy here.”

Pattaya’s re-birth as a family destination continues to gather pace with the emergence of new branded theme parks, international schools and hospitals and high quality options in dining and sports – especially sailing and golf – all reflecting the region’s changing profile towards the family leisure market.

“We are seeing more families buy Southpoint which is an encouraging sign – mainly from Thailand but also from China, Hong Kong, Japan and Russia. They are attracted by the lifestyle that can be had here, one that supports families in the all important areas of education, health and a fun, outdoors lifestyle,” added Mr Cornick.

Southpoint Pattaya is set on an elevated four-rai freehold plot on Pratumnak Hill, a short distance south of Bali Hai in Pattaya City, offering extensive sea views. Unit sizes start at 30sqm studios, with one-bedroom units ranging from 41sqm-87sqm and two-bedroom units 61sqm-97sqm. The condominium includes a dedicated sky deck with an infinity edge lap pool and fitness centre and a landscaped family zone with a children’s pool and playground.
