KLM offers self-service access to Schengen Lounge 25 at Schiphol

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has introduced self-service kiosks at the entrance to Schengen Lounge 25 at Schiphol Airport. The service will give authorised passengers quicker access to the lounge.

By scanning their own boarding passes, the passengers will be able to enter the lounge quickly and easily, even at the busiest times. KLM transported more than 30 million passengers in 2016 and that number is bound to increase in the years to come. So, the number of visitors to the lounges can only grow as well. The new system will allow KLM staff to focus more on welcoming the customers and, in so doing, offer them more personal contact.

The system involving the entry kiosks is in pilot-test phase and will be optimised in the time to come. In this way, feedback from customers and staff can be processed to created the final product. The test will look at which lounges should use the access kiosks.

KLM and Air France passengers can use the self-service system immediately. Other visitors to the lounges will be added over time.
