Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong Celebrates Father’s Day

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong offers guests a range of dining options and treats in celebration of Father’s Day this year.  As Father’s Day is the perfect time to show appreciation to fathers and pamper them for their years of love, the hotel has prepared special menus at its restaurants for all families to enjoy.

Café Kool

On 18 June 2017, Café Kool will feature Father’s Day brunch and dinner buffets that includes a host of family favourites and international fare.  Dishes include Freshly Shucked Oyster, Seafood on Ice with unlimited servings of Maine Lobster (dinner only), Alaskan King Crab Leg (dinner only), Snow Crab Leg, Mantis Shrimp, Blue Mussel, Razor Clam, Whelk, Periwinkle and other crustaceans.  Other creations include Canadian Certified Black Angus Prime OP Rib and a range of grilled meats, such as New Zealand Lamb Rack, US Beef Steak, Jumbo Quail and many more.

An array of homemade desserts, including Father’s Day Cupcakes, Beer Tiramisu, Chocolate Cigars, Pistachio Crème Brûlée, Green Tea Swiss Roll and many more, will also be available.  The buffets will include a complimentary glass of beer, juice or soft drink per person.

Opening times and buffet prices are as follows:

Brunch (11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.)                 Adult: HK$498           Child: HK$338

Lobby Lounge

With views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, Lobby Lounge is a place where guests can relax comfortably in a classic and elegant setting with live music throughout the afternoon.  On 17 and 18 June 2017, a Father’s Day-themed afternoon tea buffet will be available from 1 to 5 p.m. for only HK$368 for adults and HK$288 for children. Guests can also enjoy two live performances by The Hong Kong String Orchestra on 18 June 2017.

Guests can look forward to a medley selection of Sushi; Coffee-Cured Duck Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette; Margarita Shrimp Shooter; Beef Medallion with Oven Fries; Dim Sum; Double-Boiled Sweetened Soup with Yacon, Papaya and Almonds; Freshly Baked Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce; Blue Mountain Coffee Fruit Tart; Pear William Coffee Cake; Father’s Day Cupcakes and a variety of desserts.

Shang Palace

Between 17 and 18 June 2017, Executive Chinese Chef Mok Kit Keung at Michelin two-starred Shang Palace will prepare a range of Father’s Day-themed dim sum to pay tribute to all fathers.  Specialties include Lobster Dumpling served in Supreme Broth with Matsutake Mushroom, Steamed Rice Flour Rolls filled with Crispy Pumpkin Spring Rolls, Steamed Pacific Clam Dumplings with Green Asparagus and White Pepper Corn, Baked Abalone and Minced Chicken Puff with Caviar.

Specially designed six-course lunch and seven-course dinner menus featuring Cantonese delicacies and priced at HK$638 per person and HK$1,288 per person, respectively, will also be on offer.  For details, please refer to Appendix I.


New Chef Tsuji and his talented team at Nadaman offers a special Father’s Day Kaiseki set menu. Available on 18 June 2017, the Father’s Day Kaiseki set dinner is priced at HK$1,080 per person.  Menu highlights include Tea Pot Soup with Prawn, Hamaguri Clam, Bamboo Shoots and Mizuba Leaves; Seasonal Katsuo Bonito Salad with Ponzu Jelly Dressing; Grilled Marinated Silver Cod Fillet with Miso Paste; US Beef Steak Teppanyaki with Seasonal Vegetables; and more.  The menu is provided in Appendix II.

Déli Kool

Déli Kool’s new Executive Pastry Chef, Wins Hung, will add a sweet touch to the happy occasion with his special concoctions, including the Heart Dark Chocolate Cake, Shirt Hazelnut Cake and Raspberry Mousse Cake.  French pastries, such as Cigars Hollow, Cream Rolls with Pastry Cream, Father’s Day Cupcakes and Chocolate Smoking Pipe, will also be on offer between 12 and 18 June 2017 to surprise the taste buds of every father.  Guests may call (852) 2733 8757 to place an order.
