Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong offers guests a range of dining options and treats in celebration of Mother’s Day this year. As Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show appreciation to mothers and pamper them for their years of love, the hotel has prepared special menus at its award-winning restaurants for all families to enjoy.
On 8 May 2016, Café Kool features Mother’s Day brunch and dinner buffets that include a host of family favourites and international fare. Guests can enjoy such dishes as Freshly Shucked French Oyster, Seafood on Ice with unlimited servings of Maine Lobster (dinner only), Alaskan King Crab Leg (dinner only), Snow Crab Leg, Mantis Shrimp, Blue Mussel, Razor Clam, Whelk, Periwinkle and other crustaceans.
Other dishes include a selection of sushi and sashimi, Double-Boiled Bird’s Nest with Papaya and Snow Fungus, Roasted Rib Eye Beef with Classic Pommes Anna and Panko‑Crusted Vegetables, Smoked Salmon marinated in a variety of sauces and many more. An array of homemade desserts, such as the signature Warm Chocolate Fondant, Rose-Flavoured Red Velvet Cupcakes, Raspberry Mousse Heart, Pavlova Heart with Passion Fruit and Strawberry, Chocolate with Milk Truffle Mousse and Cheesecake with Mango Hearts, will also be available.
In addition to the above, a delicious range of egg dishes, including Stewed Bamboo Pith with Bird’s Nest Agar-Agar and Yunnan Ham, Thai-Style Oyster Omelette and Scrambled Egg with Crab Meat and Chives, are exclusively on offer during brunch.

Between 7 and 8 May 2016, Executive Chinese Chef Mok Kit Keung at Michelin two-starred Shang Palace will prepare a range of Mother’s Day-themed dim sums to show filial piety to all mothers. Specialties include Matsutake Mushroom and Lobster Dumpling served in Supreme Broth, Baked Abalone and Minced Chicken Puff topped with Black Caviar, Steamed Scallop and Bird’s Nest Dumpling topped with Gold Flakes, Deep-Fried Glutinous Rice Shrimp Dumpling served with Supreme Broth, Rose Petal Flakes and Red Rice Flour Rolls filled with Vegetarian Spring Rolls. Featuring premium Cantonese delicacies, specially designed six-course lunch and eight-course dinner menus priced at HK$498 per person and HK$1,080 per person, respectively, will also be on offer. Renowned for serving traditional kaiseki, Chef Kojima and his team have created a special Mother’s Day set menu. Available on 8 May 2016, the Mother’s Day Kaiseki set lunch and dinner are priced at HK$450 per person and HK$980 per person, respectively. The menus are provided in Appendix II.
With views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, Lobby Lounge is a place where guests can relax comfortably in a classic and elegant setting with live music throughout the afternoon. Between 7 and 8 May 2016, a Mother’s Day-themed afternoon tea buffet will be available from 1 to 5 p.m. for only HK$348 for adults and HK$298 for children.
Guests can look forward to a selection of Sushi and California Rolls; Herb Cheese, Prosciutto and Fig Jam Crostini; Crab and Goat Cheese Torte; Beef Medallion with Mushroom Ragout and Truffled Mash; Crispy Asparagus with Tartar Sauce; Chicken and Abalone Congee; Freshly Baked Apple Strudel; Lemon Custard Tart with Raspberry Meringue; Champagne-Cherry Chocolate Cake; Mini Wife Cake and many other cold and hot items, plus a variety of desserts.
Déli Kool’s executive pastry chef, Thomas Broger, will add a sweet touch to the happy occasion with his special heart-shaped cakes, including Dark Chocolate Mousse Heart Cake, Double Heart Raspberry Mousse and White Chocolate Passion Fruit Heart Cake. French pastries, such as Mothers’ Day Crispy Heart, Heart-Shaped Strawberry Cookies and Red Velvet Cupcake, will also be on offer between 4 and 8 May 2016 to surprise the taste buds of every mother.
