This year, the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, Shang Palace, offers a selection of coveted mooncakes, including the brand-new Mini Golden Century Egg and Pickled Ginger Mooncakes as well as the Mini Pineapple Paste and Five-Seed Mooncakes. Crafted by Shang Palace’s Executive Chinese Chef Cheung Long-yin, two hampers brimming with festive delicacies and fine food are also on offer to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mini Golden Century Egg and Pickled Ginger Mooncakes
This century-old combination of flavours is a special addition to the mooncake collection this year. The pungent aroma of the egg yolk is perfectly balanced by the mild spiciness of the young ginger, and together, they blend very well with the creamy lotus seed paste.

Mini Pineapple Paste and Five-Seed Mooncakes
Always a great fan of the famous pineapple cakes from Taiwan, Chef Cheung presents this new creation, featuring natural sweetness extracted from fresh pineapples and a burst of nutrients with the five-seed blend.

50-year Mandarin Peel and Red Bean Paste Mooncake with Tangerine and Pu-Er Tea Gift Set
Inspired by the traditional dessert, Sweetened Red Bean Soup, this creative mooncake is brought back by popular demand. Nowadays, 50-year mandarin peel is much sought-after because it is hard to find aged peel of more than 10 years. The secret mooncake recipe featuring the premium 50-year aged tangerine peel goes well with the citrus-flavoured Pu-Er Tea.

It is a limited edition of 140 boxes, each gold-printed with a unique serial number. The much-loved 30-year Mandarin Peel and Red Bean Paste Mooncake is also on offer.

Chiu Chow Mooncake with Pandan Leaf, Yam Paste and Salted Egg Yolk
One of the best-sellers from Shang Palace, this creation is a modern reinterpretation of traditional Chiu Chow Mooncake with sweet yam paste encased in a puff pastry skin infused with the fresh extract of pandan leaves from Singapore.

Mini Snowy Mooncake with Tokachi Red Beans and Green Tea
Dessert lovers will definitely enjoy this delicious, refreshing and exquisite sensation. Imported from Tokachi, Japan, the red bean is well-known for its sweetness and soft texture. It is mashed into a smooth and creamy purée together with the high-quality green tea paste and wrapped in the green tea-flavoured snow skin.

Mini Snowy Mooncake with Durian Paste 
This delectable creation is also brought back by popular demand and is known as the ultimate treat for durian lovers, as it is made with only the finest D24 durian. Its complex layers of richness contribute to the snowy mooncake’s smooth filling and give it a strong, fruity and distinctive aroma.

Also gracing this year’s mooncake selection includes the Mini Mooncake with Egg Yolk and White Lotus Seed Paste, the ever-popular Mini Crispy Custard Mooncake with Mashed Egg Yolk, as well as a choice of traditional flavours. Two types of hampers brimming with festive goodies and fine food are also available.

The mooncakes and hampers are available for sale starting today until 12 September 2019. Guests may enjoy one of three discount channels – the 20% early-bird discount for mooncakes (today until 31 July 2019) and bulk purchases and payments using selected credit cards or Golden Circle membership cards.

The mooncakes and hampers will be ready for collection between 1 August and 12 September 2019, except for the Mini Golden Century Egg and Pickled Ginger Mooncakes and Mini Pineapple Paste and Five-Seed Mooncakes, which will be available from 1 to 12 September 2019, and the Chiu Chow Mooncake with Pandan Leaf, Yam Paste and Salted Egg Yolk; and Shang Palace Signature Mooncake Quartet, which will be available from 7 to 12 September 2019.
