Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong Offers Diners July Delights

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong welcomes summer with a host of new tempting delights and special culinary experiences featuring some of the seasonal ingredients at Nadaman, Shang Palace, Angelini, Café Kool, Tapas Bar, Lobby Lounge and Déli Kool.

Celebrating the arrival of the summer season, the hotel’s award-winning restaurants and lounge present the “king of summer fruits” – mango – in a variety of ways, bringing diners the best taste of this season and a most refreshing summer.

Taiwanese Aiwen Mango at Shang Palace

With a bright-red skin and golden-yellow flesh, Aiwen mango, straight from the “kingdom of fruits”, is under the spotlight at Shang Palace.  Chef Mok has created a series of savoury and sweet delicacies using this popular summer fruit at its best, available from 16 July to 15 August 2016.

Menu highlights include Sautéed Prawns with Crispy Aiwen Mango Milk Custard, Roasted Duck with Aiwen Mango in Lemon Sauce, Lobster Salad with Aiwen Mango and Mixed Fruits, Wok-Fried Diced Beef with Aiwen Mango served in a Mango Shell, Aiwen Mango Mochi and more.

It’s Mango Season at Café Kool

Enjoy summer to the fullest with exotic mango desserts that make a sophisticated finish to a hearty, sumptuous buffet lunch and dinner.  Menu highlights include Mango Puff with Taiwanese Mango, Taiwanese Mango Tart Tatin, Pavlova with Cream and Taiwanese Mango, Sweet Shira Tama and Mango Jelly with Fresh Taiwanese Mango, Mango Panna Cotta with Taiwanese Mango, Mango Mousse Slice with Fresh Taiwanese Mango, Baked Mango Cheesecake with Taiwanese Mango and more, all available from 18 July to 18 September 2016.

Mango Mania at Lobby Lounge

Lobby Lounge presents a variety of seasonal mango savouries and sweets, highlighting the fragrant sweetness, rich flavour and succulent texture of the “king of summer fruits”.  Weekend afternoon tea buffet is priced from HK$318 per adult and HK$268 per child.  It is available on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 9 July to 11 September 2016.

Menu highlights include Parma Ham wrapped with Taiwanese Mango and Goat Cheese, Thai-Ginger-Cured Prawns with Taiwanese Mango Skewer, Pan-Fried Fish Fillet with Hot and Sour Taiwanese Mango Relish, Mango Jelly with Fresh Taiwanese Mango, Green Tea Bread and Butter Pudding with Mango and more.

Mango Cheese at Déli Kool

Priced at HK$300 only, Chef Thomas’s 1.5-lb Mango Cheesecake is made with premium cheese, cream and purée mango, and adorned with sweet Taiwanese mango.  It is available between 1 and 31 July 2016.

Apart from the luscious array of mango-themed promotions mentioned above, a series of gourmet events is also available throughout the whole month of July.

Claws to the Fore at Shang Palace

Between 1 and 31 July 2016, Chef Mok presents succulent virgin-crab delicacies at Shang Palace.  His various mouth-watering creations made using different cooking methods include Sautéed Fresh Milk and Egg White with Virgin Crab and Imperial Bird’s Nest, Wok-Fried Virgin Crab with Ginger and Spring Onion served with Chiu Chow Noodles, Steamed Virgin Crab and Glutinous Rice with Minced Garlic, Baked Virgin Crab with Salty Water and Oil and more.

Gastronomic Summer at Angelini

Chef Alessandro takes guests on a gastronomic journey through a delectable five-course gourmet dinner menu to taste summer’s flavour.  Featuring Italian octopus, baby lamb loin and other seasonal premium produce, such as strawberries, French beans, lychee and more, the menu is priced from HK$848 per person only.  Wine-pairing options are available: HK$1,040 includes a glass of wine and HK$1,408 includes five glasses of wine.  The menu is available from 5 July 2016.

Menu highlights include Cold Tomato and Strawberry Soup, Herb Gratinated Scallop and Seasonal Vegetables, Warm Italian Octopus, French Bean Salad, Mussel, Clam, Mayonnaise, Feta and Black Olive Crumble, Homemade Ravioli Filled with Carbonara, Crispy Bacon, Zucchini and Carrot, Baby Lamb Loin wrapped in Marinated Red Bell Pepper, Buffalo Ricotta and Lemon Compote and more.

Unagi Eel Delicacies at Nadaman

From 1 to 31 July 2016, Chef Kojima brings tantalising, energy-boosting unagi (freshwater eel) creations to the dining table.  Menu highlights include Grilled Kochi Prefecture Japanese Eel with Sake Sauce, Simmered Kochi Prefecture Japanese Eel with Burdock, Leek and Egg Sauce in Yanagikawa Style, Deep-Fried Smoked Japanese Eel with Japanese Sansho Pepper, Japanese Egg Omelette with Grilled Japanese Eel and more.

 Cheers to Summer at Nadaman

Nadaman presents refreshing summer cocktails made with what the Japanese call “the drink of the gods” – sake – and highlighting the fruits of the season, such as kyoho grape, grapefruit, peach, tomato and more.  Drinks are priced at HK$150 per glass and available throughout July and August 2016.

Summer Cocktails at Tapas Bar

Tapas Bar’s bartender presents icy colourful cocktails and mocktails featuring seasonal fresh fruits to cool guests off during the soaring summer heat, available from 4 July to 31 August 2016.
