Summit Hotels & Resorts™, a superb collection of internationally acclaimed hotels and resorts and a brand of Preferred Hotel Group™ welcomes Kyoto Tokyu Hotel and Nagoya Tokyu Hotel into the Asia Pacific portfolio of Summit Hotels & Resorts in Japan.
Offering a stylish and cultural luxury experience to the sophisticated business and leisure traveler, these two hotels will join the flagship of Tokyu Hotels – The Capitol Tokyu Hotel in Tokyo, which had joined Preferred Hotel Group in 2010 as a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Currently, the Group has a total of 13 member hotels in Japan, of which seven (7) properties, spread across Preferred Hotel Group’s stable of brands, are situated  in Tokyo. Moving forward, Preferred Hotel Group is now strategically moving into secondary Japanese cities as part of the expansion plans within the country.

“We have forged a strong partnership with Tokyu Hotels, who have 54 hotels in Japan and also the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows in Hawaii, which is also a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The addition of Kyoto Tokyu Hotel and Nagoya Tokyu Hotel as our members is a wonderful opportunity for Preferred Hotel Group and Tokyu Hotels to grow together, bringing the business relationship to the next level and increase Preferred Hotel Group’s footprints in the country,” says Ms Kaori Yamaguchi, Regional Director, Japan.

Kyoto Tokyu Hotel is a contemporary interpretation of Kyoto values that has earned the Kyoto Scenic Beauty award. The hotel combines modern architecture and amenities with tranquil courtyards and water features to create the perfect oasis for business and leisure travelers alike. Located in downtown Kyoto, a city that boasts 17 Unesco World Heritage sites, more than 1600 Buddhist temples and over 400 Shinto shrines, this 432-room hotel  is only two miles from Kyoto Imperial Palace and one mile from Kyoto Research Park. It also has  eight banquet halls for receptions, seminars, or business meetings, and a bona fide art gallery within its premises. Kyoto is renown for its rich underground springs from which the waters are used for Kaiseki Japanese cuisine and the traditional Tea Ceremony. A unique feature of Kyoto Tokyu Hotel is their tap water – it is filtered from an underground spring 80 metres deep and used for all guest rooms and restaurants within the premises.
