Kyoto Unveils new Website Updates New Booking Features, Regional Kyoto, and More…

 Kyoto City Tourism Association has unveiled a number of exciting updates to their website, https://kyoto.travel/en, designed to make it easier than ever for visitors to enjoy the city and its surrounds.

The website updates were made across a variety of fields of interest including food, shopping, events and regional experiences, presenting travellers with a number of new and enhanced tools and resources to get the best possible experience when visiting the “cultural capital of Japan”.

“We are very excited about these latest updates touching on the key drawcards Australians are craving for when visiting Japan: its food, shopping, fascinating heritage and tradition” said Alison Roberts-Brown, Director of Tourism Garden, the representative of Kyoto City Tourism Association in Australia.

“Kyoto offers so many facets of cultural significance and these new online services will make it easier than ever for travellers to unveil those” she added.

Major website updates include:

  • Access and Booking of Restaurants & Experiences: Visitors can now easily access restaurants and make reservations from the top page of https://kyoto.travel/en,  using “Gurunavi” which is now linked to the site. Kyoto experiences are now bookable through “Voyagin” reservation site also directly from the Kyoto.travel website.
  • New Content: Added information on fields of special interest:
    • New vegan & vegetarian restaurant list: https://kyoto.travel/en/topics/vegetarian
    • Souvenirs shopping list: https://kyoto.travel/en/topics/souvenirs

  • Event Schedule Introduction: Kyoto’s highlight events at one glance: https://kyoto.travel/en/planyourvisit/events/schedule
  • ‘Letters from Hidden Kyoto’: Content pages about traditional and regional Kyoto, taking travellers off the beaten path and introducing them to Kyoto’s little-known locales, from its historic textile district to the deep mountains of the northeast.  https://kyoto.travel/en/journal/
