Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) has bolstered its on-the-ground team, appointing Kathleen Finneran to the full-time role of Manager, Tourism, Australia & New Zealand.

In the role, Kathleen will manage all travel trade relations across the Oceania market for L.A. Tourism, as well as promoting the redevelopment of Los Angeles International Airport, which is in the midst of a USD$14 billion renovation.

Based in L.A. Tourism’s Sydney office, Finneran will report to Craig Gibbons, Regional Director, Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on her appointment, Gibbons said, “I’m thrilled to have Kathleen joining the L.A. Tourism team at such an exciting time for Los Angeles. The city is currently undergoing a period of revitalisation and redevelopment with new hotels, museums and attractions opening, as well as new infrastructure as the city prepares to host the 2028 Olympics.

“Australia is L.A.’s second largest overseas visitation market, with over 60% of Aussies using LAX as their gateway to North America[1]. We have no doubt these ongoing developments of the city will attract plenty Aussie and Kiwi visitors to L.A. over the next few years.”

With over a decade of experience in the tourism industry, Finneran was formerly the Trade Development Executive at Tourism New Zealand, so she brings extensive knowledge of the Australia and New Zealand market to the role.
