Laguna Golf Appoints Sir Nick Faldo as Brand Ambassador at the Exclusive Golf Weekend at Laguna Phuket

The Exclusive Golf Weekend at Laguna Phuket hosted by world-renowned golf legend and six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo last weekend on 11-12 March 2016 had concluded with great success with several exciting events – a Sunset Cocktail at Cassia Phuket, a Golf Clinic, an exclusive game with Sir Nick himself and a destination dining experience at the Hole 18 green of Laguna Golf Phuket.

Staying at the DoublePool Villas by Banyan Tree, Sir Nick also spent time to play, practice and unwind at the award-winning Laguna Phuket, Asia’s first integrated resort.

Over the two days, 26 golfers and media had the privilege to interact closely with Sir Nick who led a fun thirty-minute Golf Clinic for all golfers before kicking start the game. He shared insightful golfing tips that inspired the crowd. The golfers had an exclusive game playing two holes upclose and personal with Sir Nick, under his keen guidance. 

At the Welcome Cocktail Party on Friday 11 March, Laguna Phuket officially announced the appointment of six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo as Laguna Golf’s Brand Ambassador.

The newly broadened partnership followed the announcement of Sir Nick as the Brand Ambassador of Laguna Lăng Cô, Laguna Phuket’s sister integrated resort in Central Vietnam in June 2015.

A huge advocate for junior golf development through his famed Faldo Series tournaments, Sir Nick Faldo said, “With the aim of developing youths and giving back to the game, I am delighted to partner Laguna Golf Phuket in hosting Phuket’s first-ever Faldo Series Thailand Championship –South in early September 2016.

 Created in 1996, the Faldo Series gives opportunity to young people through golf and to help identify and nurture the next generation of champions. Hosted in 30 countries around the world, the Faldo Series benefit more than 7,000 young golfers each year.

With first-class golf course and practice facilities, the qualifying event at Laguna Golf Phuket is open to young local golfers aged 12-21 years. The winners of each age group will have an opportunity to compete and qualify for the 11th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final hosted by Sir Nick Faldo in March 2017 at Laguna Golf Lăng Cô in Central Vietnam.”

During this visit, Laguna Golf Brand Ambassador Sir Nick Faldo was also invited as the Guest-of-Honour to officiate the Grand Opening of the new British International School, Phuket (BISP) Golf Centre on Thursday 10 March 2016.
