Laneway Dining Returns to InterContinental Sydney in Time for the Festive Season

InterContinental Sydney remains at the helm of innovative wine and dining experiences with today’s announcement of two bespoke laneway dining events launching this festive season.

As one of Sydney’s most anticipated temporary locations, the heritage sandstone enclaves of the hotel’s Macquarie Street façade will transform into a pop-up laneway where the InterContinental Sydney culinary team experiment with a seasonal menu and new technique to mark the silly season.


Festive Street Dining – four nights of conceptual dining

From the unconventional and glamourous setting of the semi-secret Laneway, to the heights of Supper Club on level 32, the Festive Street Dining pop-up is a progressive dinner uncovering rare glimpses of Sydney’s sites in summer.

The five-course degustation dinner from the award-winning 117 dining team unearths the best in local produce, including seaweed-cured Hiramasa, dry-aged beef strip-loin and 117 dining’s signature dessert, Sweet Passion, from Head Pastry Chef Simon Veauvy.

Each course is expertly paired with select wines from the Bimbadgen winery estate before diners will revel in the heights of Supper Club with the signature cocktail of the season, Golden Whistler, overlooking 270 degrees of uninterrupted harbour views.

Available for an exclusive four nights only, the Festive Street Dining series is themed with wreaths of Christmas lights, bold mood lighting and DJ for the ultimate ambiance.

Festive Laneway Experience – strictly one night only

In true pop-up style, the Festive Laneway Experience will activate for one-night only with a four-course degustation dinner by 117 dining and paired wines from Bimbadgen. As with the Festive Street Dining evenings, guests will gain an exclusive invitation to Supper Club for a Santa-inspired cocktail.

Executive Sous Chef, Stephen Lech, said: “Pop-up dining has been a valuable fixture of restaurant innovation for quite some time. Chefs can test new concepts, pairings and new techniques in a completely reinvigorated environment. Our philosophy at 117 dining is focussed on seasonality and innovation and the themed ambiance of the laneway is the prime location to bring these favours to life.”
