Award winning Victoria House Resort on Ambergris Caye, Belize, has opened its new full-service spa and fitness facility, the largest of its kind on the island.
Peace, luxury and serenity at Victoria House Spa
Resort Managing Director Janet Woollam says the new spa is exactly what guests have been looking for, and the response has been enthusiastic and immediate.
“We’re being told by repeat guests of 20 years that the spa fits in beautifully with the resort, and with today’s more health-conscious traveler, it fills a need,” says Woollam. “Naturally we’re excited to hear that kind of validation.”
At 3,500 sq. ft., Victoria House Spa features four treatment salons, including a VIP couple’s salon and two with French doors which open a to private, enclosed patio allowing for outdoor massages, along with outdoor showers and lounge chairs.
The new facility also includes a 500 sq. ft. fully equipped fitness center with separate locker rooms for men and women, a reception and spa area with a full range of spa products, a relaxation room with recliner seating, and a large enclosed patio that can facilitate small yoga groups.
The Victoria House Spa complements the resort’s luxurious and tasteful accommodations, and features a 26 ft. high central Cupola, 11 ft. high ceilings, hardwood floors and ample windows for natural light throughout. Styled in a Caribbean plantation/colonial theme, the new building of white stucco and chocolate brown shutters, is set in a tropical garden with coconut palms, Flamboyants and Bougainvillea creating a serene and therapeutic atmosphere.
“Part of Victoria House’s appeal is our beachfront location on the Caribbean, and we wanted to bring that beauty, sense of space, peace and serenity to the new spa,” says Jennifer Ingvoldstad, manager of Victoria House Spa. “We are also fortunate to be able to source local coconut oil, sugar and honey scrubs, fresh hibiscus flowers, essential oils and hot stones to use in our treatments for a truly Belizean experience.”
The spa features over 36 different treatments including those specifically designed for the expectant mother, bride and bridal parties, and couples. A full menu of spa treatments and rates, and spa packages are available for guests.
In the event spa enthusiasts can’t make it to the Victoria House Spa, its services can be made available on an outcall basis to local homes, offices, hotels or other special venues.
