Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has announced that in February it will be hosting two prestigious golf events; The Spanish Seniors Men’s Amateur Championships and a ‘Spain v Sweden’ junior female golf tournament.

As Spain’s Leading Golf Course (World Golf Awards 2015 & 2016), Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has been chosen ahead of several other leading Spanish courses to host these showpiece events, in partnership with the Royal Spanish Golf Federation.

The Spanish Seniors Men’s Amateur Championships will bring 120 of the best senior players around the world together to compete for the coveted title. The format of the three day event is strokeplay and will be held between the 9th & 12th of February.

The ‘Spain v Sweden’ match will see the top 8 Spanish female juniors and top 8 Swedish juniors (under 18s) go head-to-head on the 18th & 19th of February. The two day matchplay event is in line with Las Colinas’ overall strategy to promote women’s golf and help raise the profile of the sport in the process.

Sean Corte-Real, Director of Golf & Operations at Las Colinas, commented “We are thrilled to have these two great events at our resort. To host an array of incredible senior golfers and showcase some of the finest European female golf talents in the space of a few weeks is a fabulous opportunity. We very much look forward to welcoming players and spectators alike to Las Colinas Golf & Country Club.”

A true golfing paradise, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club was recently named Spain’s Best Golf Course for the second year running at the World Golf Awards. Having also been named Spain’s Leading Villa Resort two years in a row at the 2016 World Travel Awards, the resort has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s leading golf destinations.

The 330-hectare property south of Alicante in Mediterranean woodland, features a championship course that attracts international golf and leisure visitors. In recent years it has played host to some of the world’s best golfers, and is complemented by tour-standard practice facilities, a Golf Academy and self-contained luxurious residences on site where the players will rest up before taking on the challenging course.
