Get in quick. Four cabins on the all-suite Le Boreal have become available on Abercrombie & Kent’s exclusive charter of the Northwest Passage travelling from Greenland to the Canadian Arctic provinces to Alaska and finally the Russian Far East.
En route visits are made to historic and remote islands, fjords and harbours with on board experts sharing the moving tales of voyages won and lives lost in the name of conquering this mighty trade route between the Atlantic and the Pacific.
On the West Coast of Greenland, guests may meet with local Inuits in their homes or alongside their dog-sled teams, visit a traditional hunting village and learn the traditional art of leather tanning. There are awe-inspiring geological wonders from the “Smoking Hills” of Franklin Bay to the dramatic Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There’s also time spent in the rarely-visited Yukon Territory where an abundance of wildlife includes migrating bowhead whale, walrus, moose, musk oxen, Arctic fox and 94 species of birds. It’s also one of the only places on earth where grizzly bear, black bear and polar bear can be seen in the same area.
