Victoria based Travel Counsellor Matt Schmitz is celebrating after becoming the latest agent to be awarded ‘Gold’ status by the company.

MattSchmitzThe elite title is awarded to the company’s top performing Travel Counsellors who achieve gross commissions of $146,000 or more, over a 12 month period.

Achieving this prestigious status has placed Matt in the top 10% of Travel Counsellors worldwide, joining fellow Australian Gold Travel Counsellors Nadine Kutz and Michelle Tavli. Both Nadine and Michelle have retained their ‘Gold’ status this year with Nadine currently holding the title of ‘Best TC in the world’.

Matt comments: “I’m delighted to have reached ‘Gold’ status – it is a very proud moment in my career. Before joining Travel Counsellors I worked in a retail travel agency but I craved the freedom to focus on the service I provide my customers, plus the chance to achieve better earning potential. Since making my decision I haven’t looked back since. I can run my own successful business whilst having the support and guidance of being part of a global company. The head office support team have been paramount in helping me achieve this goal. It’s great to be recognised and rewarded by the company for all my hard work and I look forward to my future at Travel Counsellors.”

Each year Travel Counsellors congratulates its top performing Gold Travel Counsellors by rewarding them with an exclusive ‘Gold Weekend’ trip. The trip is an opportunity for the company to show its gratitude for the vital role the agents have played in the company’s success over the last 12 months. Last year more than 100 Gold Travel Counsellors attended the exclusive event in Orlando, Florida and this year’s location will be revealed at the company’s annual global conference in November.

Australian General Manager Tracy Parkinson comments; “We are delighted to have another Gold Travel Counsellor in Australia and I would like to congratulate Matt on his amazing achievement. It’s a credit to Matt’s determination that he has achieved this in such a short time frame. It really does reflect the company’s ongoing success in Australia as we continue to recruit the best agents in the industry, empowering them to take control of their futures and run their own home-based travel businesses as part of the Travel Counsellors family. We look forward to awarding more of our agents in Australia with Gold status in the near future.”
