Your journey begins on 4 May 2021with 2 nights at Johannesburg’s spectacular Four Seasons The Westcliff where you can discover the charms of South Africa’s largest city at your leisure, before embarking the iconic Rovos Rail, the Pride of Africa, for a 9-night sojourn from Pretoria to Namibia’s Walvis Bay.

Here, treat yourself to a night at the historic Strand Hotel Swakopmund, before departing for your onward private charter flight to the bleak but beautiful Skeleton Coast, where you’ll spend 3 nights at the award-winning Skeleton Coast Shipwreck Lodge, booked out exclusively for Latitude 33’s guests. Revel in views of the of the Atlantic Ocean from its shipwreck-shaped chalets nestled between the dunes, and enjoy regular encounters with seabird colonies, Cape Fur seals, gemsbok, desert-adapted elephant, zebra, lion, giraffe oryx, springbok and even brown hyena.

Return to the Sossusvlei Dunes by private charter for the final 3 nights of your journey, staying at the incomparable &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge – also reserved for Latitude 33’s exclusive use. A spectacular masterpiece of glass, rock and steel pavilions, the lodge extends out over an ocean of dunes and gravel planes, in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Spend your time exploring the NamibRand Nature Reserve by quad bike or 4×4 safari vehicle; keep an eye out for ostrich, bat-eared foxes and the mysterious ‘fairy circles’ which dot the landscape from a hot-air balloon, and enjoy dune dinners in dramatic desert locations under star-strewn skies with the Lodge’s resident astronomer, before departing for your flight home on 21 May 2021.
