Europ Assistance SA leading the way with technology

Europ Assistance South Africa is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and remains a leader in the assistance services industry. In another market-leading move, they are now launching the EAzi app, which effortlessly connects clients to their World of Care Services. While there may be other cab services currently in the market, the EAzi app stands alone as the offering that provides so much more than just a transportation facility, allowing access to features such as their popular Take Me Home service and the SnappCab taxi service. The EAzi app comes with the facility to track these services in real time.  The intention is to offer the digital channel across all Europ Assistance SA’s services in the near future.

Innovation and accountability are cornerstones of the Europ Assistance SA brand, and this app, the first of its kind in South Africa, speaks to both. Not only is Europ Assistance SA leading the way with technology that allows clients to access a range of vital services, they are also ensuring that they and their service providers are always held accountable to the end user. This is done by offering users a unique tracking system, which allows them to monitor the progress of their requested service via the location-based app. This means no more pesky phone calls to find out where the driver is, as the client will be able to monitor the service provider’s position and ETA on the EAzi app via a GPS tracking system. Europ Assistance SA will also be able to monitor this progress and divert to another service provider if the one originally allocated becomes too delayed by traffic or any unforeseen circumstances. The client can also see who has been allocated to render the requested service, as this interactive portal provides all the relevant details. Clients will also be able to monitor progress while already in the vehicle, meaning they can ensure that they are heading to the right destination. Services can either be pre-booked or selected as instant. The Take Me Home service is available for those clients who have already driven to a destination in their own vehicles, while SnappCab can be requested for those who do not have their own vehicle with them.

Europ Assistance SA already implements an ICE (in case of emergency) system, which means that clients’ details are captured on their database. This feature will carry over into the app, enabling immediate identification and validation as a request for a specific service is generated. This is convenient when requesting an offering such as Take Me Home, but vital when a client requires Emergency Medical Services or Roadside Assistance. No time is wasted by call centre operators attempting to get emergency contact details or other personal information, as all these details are already captured on the system, meaning crucial time is saved in providing the necessary assistance. Another added benefit of using the app for Roadside Assistance is that functionalities such as on scene photo management, damage reporting and destination tracking of the vehicle, among others, will be available.

The new Europ Assistance SA app gives clients control over when, where and how they access the available services, and eliminates any possibility of requests being ‘lost in translation’ over the telephone. The location-based service means that the closest available team will render assistance, substantially reducing waiting times. Users will be able to contact the driver directly if necessary to advise that their phone battery is running low, for instance, and a maximum of two additional passengers will be allowed per vehicle excluding with the primary client. While clients will be allocated free use of the various services depending on the programme they subscribe to, it will also be possible to pay by cash or credit card for services should the free allocation be utilised already.

As we head into year-end function season, the EAzi app is perfectly placed to allow clients to have fun while safe in the knowledge that they are behaving responsibly by not driving while under the influence. The bouquet of services will also increase over time, with other offerings such as Emergency Medical Services, Roadside and Home assistance being added as the app evolves. This is certainly another giant step forward in the realm of Assistance services that sees Europ Assistance once again leading the way.
