Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) announced the launch of its new digital presence with three distinct websites – FlyLAX.com, iFlyVNY.com and LAWA.org. The three sites replace the previous version of LAWA.org.The new clean and easy-to-navigate sites allow for enhanced content and improved search functionality. The sites are designed to provide a superior experience on all mobile devices and conform to any type of screen. Whether viewing on a desktop computer, or any smart device, the content will adjust to fit.

“The modernisation of LAX is about more than just new construction, it’s about creating an intuitive, seamless, safe and efficient guest experience from the beginning to the end of a passenger journey, and our new websites are a big part of these efforts,” said Justin Erbacci, LAWA Chief Innovation and Commercial Strategy Officer. “The new FlyLAX.com and its sister websites are mobile-friendly, and allow users to create customisable experiences that provide real-time travel data – one more step forward in our efforts to create a world-class, industry-leading guest experience at our airport.”

The LAX passenger-facing website www.FlyLAX.com provides dynamic data – real-time information for flights, parking, gates and much more, which will allow travellers to customise their journey at the airport with information that is relevant to them. Passengers can check the status on arriving and departing flights, find out how to get to LAX, where to park, how to find their way around the airport, as well as where to dine and shop before a flight. Additional information and services will be added to the website over time to further improve the guest experience.

LAWA has also unveiled the newly revamped LAWA.org, which is the business-facing side of the organisation. This new site highlights the airport’s focus on business, environment, employment and governance.

Also launched today is a new website for Van Nuys Airport – iFlyVNY.com with information specific to the general aviation airport.

LAWA is continuously looking at ways to use technology to improve the guest experience. LAX recently became one of the Transportation Safety Administration’s Innovation Task Force (ITF) sites as the two organisations are working together on piloting and deploying airport safety solutions. Recently, Automated Screening Lanes (ASL) were debuted in Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) as part of a $12.4 million project to improve passenger experience at 16 of LAX’s security checkpoint lanes.

Biometric boarding gates have recently launched at LAX, making it the first airport to allow passengers to board their flight without the requirement of a boarding pass. This allows for enhanced security and a faster boarding process. Additionally, LAX-specific information is now available on Amazon’s Alexa app, allowing guests to Ask Alexa about parking, flight status or concession locations.
