Eduardo Vastolo (Illy Coffee Barista for Asia Pacific)Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran once again brewed a tasteful day of discovery with Illy Coffee to affirm its shared commitment of partnership in providing the ultimate coffee experience to the resort’s guests.

The co-curated event named ‘Premiere of A New Perspective on Coffee’ was held on Friday, 28 February 2014 at WALA, the resort’s unique concept for the guests to enjoy the finely crafted gelato, teas and specialty coffees by Illy Coffee. The resort’s guests and local media friends were cordially invited to join the aroma-filled event and embark on an interactive learning workshop that inspired the Premiere of A New Perspective on Coffee (Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran)guests on how to creatively pair the tasteful coffees with succulent home-made dishes. The joint coffee + culinary culture class was conducted by the resort’s newly onboard French Executive Chef, Hugo Thiebaut, and Asia Pacific’s Regional illyCaffe Barista Trainer, Eduardo Vastolo. The class was free of charge and started at 11.00.

Teaming up with world renowned Illy Coffee, Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran conducted an exciting New Perspective get-together to further enthuse the coffee and food aficionados at WALA – the resort’s inspiring spot to indulge handcrafted gelato, to popsicles or sip the perfect cup of Illy coffee. “Together with Illy, Le Méridien’s exclusive coffee partner, we attempted to invigorate our guests about our pursuit of inspiring journeys of discovery through the perspective of coffee. This joint-collaboration has a deep meaning for us to establish our footmark as a new resort in Bali that is able to creatively orchestrate both exceptional dine and stay experience”, said Greg Gubiani, General Manager of Le Méridien Bali Premiere of A New Perspective on CoffeeJimbaran.

Founded in 1933 by Francesco Illy, illycaffè produces and markets worldwide only one blend of high quality coffee, made of nine kinds of pure Arabica. The unmistakable taste and aroma of Illy are born from the perfect balance of these ingredients coming from South America, Central America, India, Africa, and China. Taste and aroma are always the same in each cup of coffee sipped in any country of the planet. In order to increase each profile of its blend, in 2010 the company has created the Monoarabica line of products, and has started to sell three out of nine Premiere of A New Perspective on Coffee1Arabicas: those from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. With Le Méridien, Illy have shared the similar passion to get-connected with travellers and coffee addicts by a distinctive approach in introducing the coffee culture through creative forms of art, such as architecture, design, fashion, film, food and photography.

“The collaboration on this event aims to familiarize an understanding about coffee and how it can be concocted in such elevated way for the travellers in exploring a new experience of drinking the coffee, and to share some tips on what dishes would go well with coffee. This idea of coffee and food pairing is to add even more excitements for the travellers to try at home. Thus, we believe through this joint event, Le Méridien Bali Jimbaran conveys its passion consistently in delivering inspirations for its discerning guests to upraise their travel adventure through coffee”, said Eduardo Vastolo, the illyCaffe Barista Trainer for Asia Pacific Region who is also the alumni of Universita Del Caffe by illycaffe in Trieste, Italy.
