CHINESE NEW YEAR MENUS AT SHANG PALACE

Herald the Year of the Monkey with Shang Palace’s range of seven auspicious Yu Sheng, including one vegetarian option, which are available from $68. New this year is the Golden Bloom Yu Sheng which comprises an oceanic harvest of Lobster, Salmon, Ocean Clam and Caviar, symbolising riches and luck for a prosperous year ahead. Indulge in three exquisite eight-course menus crafted by Master Chef Steven Ng – The OpulenceAbundance and Prosperity menus which start from $158 and feature highlights including Yu ShengWhole Abalone, Braised Bird’s Nest, Crispy Lobster with Egg Yolk, Whole Suckling Pig and Nian Gao. Guests may also enjoy a selection of delicately crafted a la carte items including Stewed Premium Bird’s Nest, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Stewed Pork Knuckle, Barbecued Honey Kurobuta Pork and Baked Japanese Wagyu Beef in Teriyaki Sauce. CHINESE NEW YEAR TAKEAWAYS AND GOODIES

Guests looking for the ultimate indulgence may opt for the Magnificent Opulence Hamper which includes an unforgettable private dining experience where Master Chef Steven Ng from Shang Palace will prepare a menu for 10 guests in the comfort of one’s own home. Two butlers complete the unique experience, providing Shangri-La’s signature hospitality. The menu includes Suckling Pig with Foie GrasBird’s Nest with Crab Meat and RoeBraised Abalone and Wok-fried Lobster complemented with PerrierJouët Belle Époque 2004, Magnum (1500ml). CHINESE NEW YEAR FEASTS AT ISLAND BALLROOM

Guests are invited to join the convivial atmosphere at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s Island Ballroom with the Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Dinner celebration on 7 February 2016. From 6:30pm to 10:00pm, savour an eight-course menu with toothsome delicacies including Yu Sheng; Bird’s Nest with Crab Meat and Lobster; Braised Whole Abalone; Golden Prawns and Double-boiled Pomelo, Apple and Red Date Nian Gao. Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Dinner is priced at $158nett per guest and includes unlimited soft drinks and juices. 

To welcome Chinese New Year on 8 February 2016, guests may indulge in a sumptuous Lunar New Year Lunch Buffet at Island Ballroom, consisting of Master Chef Steven Ng’s childhood recipes gleaned from his grandmother. The delicacies include Chef Steven’s savoury ‘Tang Yuan’ Soup; Braised Pork Knuckle; Stewed Duck with Chestnuts; Braised Pork Skin with Cuttlefish, Fish Balls and Traditional Curry; Roasted Pork and Char Siew, a selection of Dim Sum anddesserts including FortuneNian Gao and Pineapple Tarts. Guests will also be entertained by a Lion Dance performance, heralding good fortune for the year ahead.
