Leave the Modern World Behind on New Mongolia Cycle Tour

April 19, 2014 Travel Deals No Comments Email Email

Leading cycle tour company Grasshopper Adventures has just launched a new 12-day trip into remote Mongolia.

Wide-open spaces and enormous blue skies will be your constant companion on the challenging new 400km, totally off-road cycling tour through one of central Asia’s most untouched landscapes.

Departing from the capital Ulaan Bataar, the tour takes in the famous Mongolian steppes, the Tamir River Valley, Tsenkher Hot Springs, Orkhon Falls and striking desert landscape of the Mongol Els Sand Dunes.

The off-road route means there is no traffic to contend with except the local sheep, goats, horses and cattle. There are plenty of people to meet too, from curious children on horseback to nomadic shepherds and their families.

With little infrastructure outside the capital, nine nights are spent camping, either in modern tents or gers (yurts), with a chef providing delicious meals along the way.

Grasshopper Adventures runs unique, small-group cycling and photography tours through Asia that let visitors experience a country at a different pace, from a different perspective. From easy day trips to extended journeys through challenging terrains, Grasshopper’s quality tours take you to the backstreets and backroads that few tourists ever get to.
