An Australian Rules legend has joined the list of high-profile speakers set to address Travellers Choice members next month at the award-winning group’s Annual Shareholders’ Conference in Melbourne.
‘Lethal Leigh’ Matthews won the Premiership during a 16-year career with Hawthorn before repeating the feat as coach of Collingwood and the Brisbane Lions. In 1994 he was inducted into the Sporting Hall of Fame and is officially recognised by the AFL as the ‘best player of the 20th century’.
Travellers Choice CEO Christian Hunter says Matthews’ presentation will focus on simple but effective ways business owners can unite and lead successful teams.
“Leigh has repeatedly shown a remarkable ability to motivate individuals, forge elite groups and inspire them to achieve remarkable goals,” says Hunter. “I have no doubt his insights will prove enormously valuable to members in their businesses and their lives in general.”
Travellers Choice members will also hear from Jacqueline Wilson-Smith, an advocate of “disruptive innovation” who has been responsible for the launch of major food and beverage portfolios while working with organisations such as Buderim Ginger, Accolade Wines UK and Mondelez International (formerly Kraft Foods).
Wilson-Smith is currently Head of Marketing and Innovation at Australian company Gourmet Garden. Under her direction the company last year unveiled a revolutionary fridge herb system that won Product of the Year 2015 and made Gourmet Garden a household name.
“Jacqueline’s presentation will empower the group’s members to look beyond the status quo and develop their own innovative thinking, particularly when it comes to the way they connect with consumers,” says Hunter.
This year’s Shareholders’ Conference – which takes place from November 20-22 at the five-star Pullman Melbourne Albert Park – will also feature popular actor and breast cancer research fundraiser Samuel Johnson and Master of Ceremonies Andrew Daddo.
The conference will be followed by the Travellers Choice Cruise Forum, which will this year take place onboard P&O Cruises’ new Pacific Eden.
