Following the highly anticipated announcement of the National Geographic Orion’s 2016 European program, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic are equipping agents with the tools to significantly grow their bookings ahead of the ship’s inaugural season.
With nearly 50 years of expedition heritage, taking travellers on adventures to some of the most remote places around the globe, Lindblad Expeditions–National Geographic has made a commitment to curate the most compelling and seamless European program to date, allowing guests to discover this perennially popular region like never before.
Gareth James, General Manager, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Australia, said: “Europe has long been a favoured holiday hot-spot among Australians. In response to both agent and client demand, we’ve used our expedition ethos to create an unrivalled, all-inclusive program of 22 one week voyages providing both past guests and seasoned explorers with a truly unique way of experiencing Europe.”
To bring these experiences to life and allow agents to better communicate the Lindblad difference to their clients, they have created a solo destination brochure that illustrates the active, insightful, exclusive and effortless nature of this sought-after program.
This go-to guide comes complete with inspiring imagery and information direct from Lindblad’s Experience Design Team who travelled almost 17,000km, in 20 countries, for three months to create itineraries that feature a daily menu of authentic, cultural experiences, including genuinely physical and energetic options. All preserve small guest groups of 20 or fewer, with transportation via jeeps, antique autos, even tuk tuks.
From off road treks through the Portuguese countryside, heading out with the local fishermen to harvest mussels for the meal they will share together; to harnessing up and trekking across rooftops for a peerless view of Stockholm’s old town; and exclusive events and interaction with region’s cultural influencers, guests will be provided with a gateway into the history, culture and soul of Europe. Music will be woven throughout, and our onboard ethnomusicologist will arrange a series of exclusive performances and special concerts by each region’s top musicians.
As highlighted in the brochure, guests will also have the opportunity to be a part of National Geographic Orion’s maiden Europe season. This 102-guest ship is ideally suited to easily navigate its way around Europe’s picturesque coastlines and waterways, and will be the only ship in Europe with a fleet of bikes, kayaks and Zodiacs.
Environmentally conscious travellers will also appreciate Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic’s sustainable approach to food with fresh, local produce a key component of the on board menu designed by Serge Dansereau – principal of Sydney’s The Bathers’ Pavilion. Similar culinary standards will be experienced on shore with guests meeting and dining with top quality European providers, from small-scale farmers to boutique vintners and cheesemongers.
This brochure will become an encyclopedia of European travel for agents, with the pages detailing a day-by-day breakdown of each itinerary, along with a map, insider tips and effortless pre and post trip extensions. To help agents capitalise on bookings, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has also simplified pricing, with all itineraries starting from AU$9,990 per person – category one, including bar tab and staff gratuities. Guests can take any two or more voyages, in any sequence, and save 10%. Departures for the 22 sailings run from 24 April – 18 September 2016.
Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic is also offering consultants a suite of tools including webinars and training sessions, to enable them to become European sales experts. To request a 2016 European brochure, visit www.expeditions.com or call 1300 361 012 (AU) or 0800 444 462 (NZ).
