Lion Travel, Taiwan’s leading retail and online travel brand, today announced that it has appointed Sabre as its primary technology provider. The six-year agreement expands on a long-standing partnership with Abacus International, acquired by Sabre Corporation, the global travel technology leader, earlier this year.
Lion Travel, which has been growing its domestic and overseas interests in China, Japan, Thailand, the Pacific, USA and Canada, credits much of its success to the productivity gains and enhanced client-servicing associated with Sabre’s industry-leading technologies, including Sabre Red WorkSpace and most recently, Ticketing Express. More value will be realized from new projects, such as the planned integration of Sabre’s advanced online travel shopping tools.
Jason Wang, Chairman of Lion Group said, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sabre as our primary technology provider. Their technical edge and market expertise will help us extend our leadership position in Taiwan, while developing the many opportunities we see overseas.” He added, “This close collaboration with Sabre is part of our investment in Lion Travel’s continued expansion and future success.”
The agreement also reflects Sabre’s plan to accelerate the growth of its ambitious Asia-based customers by supplying the tools and insight to compete in new markets, while scaling their operations profitably.
Roshan Mendis, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific said, “Lion Travel exemplifies Asian innovation, taking the best-in-class technologies to deliver a superior customer service and fulfillment experience. We are excited to be supporting their continued differentiation as they compete in new markets and win.”
