Cooking family dinner, chatting with neighbors and meeting friends for coffee may not seem like typical vacation activities.
Yet increasingly, as travelers seek more immersive experiences many are choosing to live like the locals while on vacation.
To help its customers take advantage of this trend, Delta Vacations, the official vacation provider for Delta Air Lines, has been adding serviced vacation residences in destinations across Europe.
“We understand that our customers are looking for new ways to experience Europe,” said John Caldwell, president of Delta Vacations. “Serviced vacation residences are an exciting option for couples, friends and multigenerational families wanting to connect with a city, its people and its culture.”
Serviced vacation residences, such as apartments, condominiums and homes, offer more space than standard hotel rooms typically provide. These studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments are fully-furnished, include well-equipped kitchens and are centrally located to serve as a home away from home while on vacation.
However, unlike short-term apartment rentals or home-sharing programs, Delta Vacations works with top hospitality providers to offer world-class ‘self-catering’ vacation residences that are managed, maintained and cleaned by professional staff.
Delta Vacations recently added more than 20 serviced vacation residences in Europe. Through a new global agreement with Serviced Apartments Worldwide Pte Ltd., Delta Vacations now offers serviced apartment locations in Prague, Czech Republic; Birmingham, Bristol and London, England; Nice, France; Budapest, Hungary; Florence and Rome, Italy; Lisbon, Portugal; Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland; and Barcelona and Madrid, Spain.
These properties are in addition to existing serviced vacation residences Delta Vacations offers in Barcelona, London, Paris and the U.S, including California, Florida, Hawaii and New York. In all, more than 150 serviced vacation residence choices are available globally through Delta Vacations.
Delta Vacations offers more ways to earn bonus miles and earn toward Medallion status in the SkyMiles program on all Delta marketed flights – including Medallion Qualification Dollars on all fares – and a guaranteed Vacation Price Pledge when booking vacation packages to any of Delta Vacations’ more than 250 destinations. SkyMiles members can earn up to 7,500 bonus miles per person, in addition to credited flight miles, with a flight and hotel vacation.
