Lobby Lounge at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong Introduces New Afternoon Tea Treats

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong’s Lobby Lounge presents exciting new looks and new flavours at its weekend afternoon tea buffet and weekday afternoon tea set.

Weekend Afternoon Tea Buffet

The new afternoon tea buffet features a carving station, a drink station with a great variety of hot tea, as well as special-themed fruit drinks, a colourful candy corner and 4.3 Hokkaido Milk Ice-Cream.  The sinfully sweet Chocolate Sheets and Marshmallow Ropes are also on offer.

The July and August highlights are a wide variety of savouries and sweets made with mango, widely loved for its juiciness and divine sweetness.  Priced at HK$338 per adult and HK$268 per child, the refreshed tea buffet is available from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Weekday Afternoon Tea Set

The Birdie Paradise Afternoon Tea Set, which has been an instant hit in town since its first launch, features exciting new items.  Guests can take their pick between Chinese delights straight from the kitchen of Michelin two-starred Shang Palace and an array of tempting Western bites, all served in a custom-made four-tier golden birdcage hanging either from the ceiling or on a stand.  The Chinese set includes delicious treats, such as Foie Gras Jelly with Tangerine and Sweet Wine, Barbecued Suckling Pig on Toast and Baked Apple-Shaped Pastry with Pineapple, while the Western set highlights Boston Lobster Roulade, Alaskan Crab Leg with Basil Pesto and Sakura Cheesecake.

Both menus include a welcome mocktail, amuse-bouche, warm Homemade Scones served with Strawberry Ginger Preserves and Devon Clotted Cream, a Mini Fruit Platter and a Silver Tree filled with Heavenly Chocolates, presented on the table.  Guests can also take home a mini birdcage memento, available while stocks last.

A New Offering – A Personalised Drink

Each afternoon tea set comes with a complimentary coffee or tea.  A range of quality fruit teas, flower teas and freshly brewed coffee is available.  With our brand-new milk-printing service, guest may now customise their hot cappuccino or hot chocolate with a high-quality image of themselves on the milk foam to top off a fine afternoon at Lobby Lounge.

Priced at HK$488 plus 10 per cent for two persons, the afternoon tea set is offered from 2 to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) and is limited to a maximum of 30 guests per weekday.  Only guests with prior online reservations are accepted.
