New Lodge Manager
Queenstown’s Hidden Lodge, formerly known as Evergreen Lodge, has recently appointed their new on-site Lodge Manager. Claudia Bartsch has been appointed to the role, which she commenced in late October.
The four suite, exclusive retreat is located overlooking Lake Wakatipu, in Sunshine Bay only six minutes from the heart of Queenstown. The property is positioned at a five star level and in the past won the Supreme New Zealand Tourism award. Hidden Lodge is known for its secluded, private location.
Claudia has extensive management experiences in five and six star properties in Queenstown, Fiji and Germany. Claudia is originally from Germany where she gained a certificate of expert in hotel business from the Ritterplan School of Hotel Management in Goettingen. Claudia is eloquent in both English and German.
Hidden Lodge co-owner Jessica Brunell comments, “We’re delighted to have the range of skills Claudia brings to Hidden Lodge. She has a diversity of experiences, including restaurant and operations management positions. Her skills and wealth of knowledge are perfect for the intimate and welcoming environment we provide”.
New Owners and New Name
Hidden Lodge was purchased by Jessica Brunell and Murray Boyes, both of Christchurch, in April 2016. Jessica and Murray have spent the months since reviewing and refining the offering at Hidden Lodge. This has included transition to a new name. The lake perspective from the Lodge includes views of Hidden Island on Lake Wakatipu, which, as the name suggests, is hidden. It appears as though it joins the landscape underneath Cecil Peak.
“We’ve worked hard through the winter to establish our new way forward at Hidden Lodge. The appointment of Claudia was crucial. We’re looking forward to a busy summer and are well advanced in our marketing plans for 2017 and beyond”, comments Murray.
