L’Oliver Restaurant introduces new À La Carte menu

Embark on a gastronomic journey to Mediterranean cuisine at our famed L’Olivier Restaurant with a new À La Carte Menu for spring and summer season, created by our Executive Chef Sakal Phoeung starting from March.

2The new menu of L’Olivier is focused on the purity in fresh and flavourful products like red tuna, lobster, red mullet, sea bass, eggplant and artichoke to name a few. L’Olivier Restaurant will bring the customer to the new journey to European cuisine.

Some new dishes in the menu include Sea bass with eggplant extract, smoked eel, semolina, coriander and mint and Steamed codfish loin and cannelloni with shell fish. For new meat dishes, a must-try is our Lamb shoulder Middle East style with baby vegetables or Duck with rosemary juice, tomato ravioli and anise-flavored pommes mousseline.

Mouth-watering desserts include black forest cake version 2014, seven chocolate texture, warm vanilla millefeuille, meringue shell scented with lemon and strawberries.

The new menu at L’Olivier will bring the fresh breeze to the sultry weather of spring and summer.

Chef Sakal Phoeung, Sakal started his career in France and has more than 25 years of experience working in famous restaurants and hotels in Europe and Asia. With almost 20 years of experience at a number of fine restaurants and hotels in France, Vietnam, Cambodia and China, Chef Sakal now brings his award-winning culinary skills to Sofitel Saigon Plaza.

Having graduated from the Hotelier School of Challes-Les-Eaux and the world-renowned LeNotre School, Chef Sakal earned several years of kitchen experience as he held the positions of Commis Poissons, Commis-Garde Manager, Chef de Partie Poissons, Chef de Partie Patisserie, and Executive Sous Chef at several restaurants in France over a 9-year period.

Chef Sakal now brings his considerable experience and culinary expertise to Sofitel Saigon Plaza. He is pleased to be living in Saigon and he looks forward to welcoming guests to his restaurants to experience the only French five star hotel can offer, right here in Saigon

L’Oliver Restaurant, a Mediterranean style cuisine, has been hosting more than 12 Michelin Star Chefs including chef Jean-Baptiste Natali from Hostellerie de la Montagne, one-Michelin-star restaurant in Colombey les deux Eglises (Champagne); chef Ulrich Heimann from Le Ciel, one-Michelin-star restaurant in Berchtesgaden (Germany); and most recently chef Gilles Reinhardt from Maison Paul Bocuse, three-Michelin-star restaurant in Collonges (Lyon) last November.  L’Oliver serves business set lunch and dinner daily between 11:30 am – 2:00 pm for lunch and 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm for dinner.
