Frequent flyers have always known that it pays to be well dressed if seeking an upgrade – and now it’s official. Air New Zealand is rewarding its most stylish-looking and fashionable passengers with free upgrades.
There’s a catch. Firstly, the flight must be transatlantic – and you must be at Heathrow on a certain date.
Air New Zealand’s sudden recent generosity to its most modish and elegant passengers was part of a promotion linked to Los Angeles Fashion Week.
The New Zealand carrier appointed a stylist to walk the terminals at London’s Heathrow airport, the New Zealand Herald reported, “to give away free upgrades and indulgent treats to those passengers adorned in the most on-trend looks”.
It’s not enough to look fashionable. You have to look fashionable in a hip, Los Angeles sort of way.
Laura Martin, a fashion stylist and former fashion editor, was scouting around Heathrow’s Terminal 2 earlier this week. Who knows, she may return.
An effortless cool, laidback style largely driven by the weather is the way to look, apparently. Cast aside your Ugg boots, hoodies and tattered T-shirts.
The promotion includes business upgrades, lounge access, free pamper kits and pre-departure Champagne.
