Jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the show is the first stationery, hobby & crafts and office supplies industry event in the calendar year. It connects industry players and offers innovative products and ideas for business development to stay ahead of the industry.

Diakakis Imports SA from Greece is a loyal exhibitor at Hong Kong International Stationery Fair. The regular participant intends to display products of various brands including Luna, Must, Tesoro and Stop & Look at the show. The company’s Export Manager, Mr Kostas Moisiadis said: “Attending the show helps us to present our brands and to establish long-term collaboration, as well as to ensure the needs and expectations of the customers are fully covered. This is also an ideal platform to launch new products and collect feedback.” In addition to fulfilling all European Safety standards, the company products, such as gift items, art & craft and back-to-school products, also meet children’s needs and inspire their creativity.

PT. Solo Murni is another returning company that will make good use of the platform to introduce the brand KIKY. The Indonesian exhibitor has taken part in the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair since 2011. The company engages in OEM business for various paper products such as school supplies, office supplies, gift boxes and bags, envelopes and more. The company is expecting to meet wholesalers, agents and retailers at the show. Mr Johnson Ho, Export Manager of PT. The system involves printing and exhaustive product process control.” The company is well-known for its product quality and customer service.

Last edition’s show attracted more than 20,500 visitors from 110 countries and regions. The top five visiting countries and regions were the Chinese mainland, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and the US. According to the independent on-site visitor survey commissioned by the HKTDC, over 60 percent of the visitors were from wholesale trade and close to 20 percent of them were from retail trade.

Growth in school stationery market is expected

Due to increasing popularity on personalised products, the demand for unique school stationery items surged. The global school stationery supplies market is expected to grow at a CAGR of almost four percent by 2020, based on research by Technavio, a market research company. Paper-based products continue to lead the overall school stationery supplies market, which represented more than half of the overall market in 2015.

The research report also revealed two rising demands in the market, which are the demand for high-quality innovative stationery with multi-functions, as well as the demand for customised school stationery for unique identification of a consumer’s product. In addition, paper craft and art activities products for children are gaining popularity among consumers.

The Hong Kong International Stationery Fair will be held concurrently with the HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show, the HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair and the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
