Luca Cinalli From London’s Nightjar Works His Cocktail Magic At Lobster Bar and Grill

Lobster Bar and Grill at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong welcomes Luca Cinalli from London’s Nightjar – voted the second best bar in the world by Drinks International 2013 – from 23 to 27 September 2014.

Luca, a leading London-based bartender from Italy, is the head bartender at London’s Nightjar – a prohibition-themed bar renowned for its inventive cocktails and top-notch service. For five days in Hong Kong, he will showcase his impeccable cocktails crafted with creativity and elegance alongside Lobster Bar and Grill’s skilled bartenders headed by Agung Prabowo.

Five innovative cocktails which Luca has exclusively concocted from scratch for Lobster Bar and Grill will be served with exquisite theatricality evoking the style of a world-class magician where the audience never quite knows what he is doing. His libations take inspiration from Nightjar’s intriguing cocktail line-up and dusted with a touch of Oriental ingredients. He tops it off with his expertise in the beauty of garnishing; he was once touted as the king of garnishing. “I always aim to impress the customer and give them something unique and memorable. I design my drinks based on the habits of the customer and culture of the city,” Luca commented about his inventive cocktails created for his Hong Kong debut.

Luca hails from Lanciano, a small town in the Italian Abruzzo region, but has been living in England’s capital for the past six years. He started working in the hospitality industry at the age of 12 and has worked at various establishments in such cities as Florence, Paris, Sardinia, Cortina D’ampezzo and Salo. Most recently, he was invited to guest judge and conduct a private master class together with renowned bartenders from around the world at the famed Diageo World Class in Malaysia and Singapore 2014.
