Responding to travel agent calls to simplify and enhance its product offer, effective immediately Lufthansa Australia has introduced routing fares and is phasing out the mileage fare system.

The new routing fares have been published in the GDS and will allow agents to offer more routing options with great stopover options to their customers.

“With the introduction of routing fares we are pleased to offer an enhanced yet simplified product with more inclusions, improved availability, less risk of ADMs and improved support to the trade,” says Anil Rodricks, General Manager Lufthansa Group. The new fare offer starts with $1150 gross year-round entry level fares for Economy Class detached from mileage checks and validated as per the routing booked. Zones have been reduced to two zones that cover 164 destinations in Europe. Domestic Australian sectors have also been built into the new structure.

Lufthansa connects from Australia to Europe with partner carriers directly via 18 gateways across Asia, Africa and The Americas. Additional surface sectors allow passengers to choose from even more Lufthansa online connecting points on all four continents en route to Europe. The possibilities to create multi-stop or around the world itineraries are endless. “The new simple and transparent fare concept will allow for even greater travel options to Europe,” Rodricks said.

All Lufthansa published fares can be combined with any Austrian or SWISS fare on a half round-trip basis. Faresheets can be downloaded from www.lufthansaexperts.com.
