Luna Park Sydney Opens Retro American Inspired Diner

December 18, 2017 Dining No Comments Email Email

Helter Skelter, a 1950s American inspired diner, opens at Luna Park Sydney in time for the summer holidays. Catering to the growing trend in Australia towards quality low ‘n’ slow American cuisine, Helter Skelter offers a range of American diner classics and fresh options, including gluten free and vegetarian meals.

Over the past 5 years American cuisine has dominated the Australian food and dining scene, transforming the humble backyard barbecue into a decadent art form. Luna Park Sydney has taken this mouth-watering trend and curated a menu featuring slow cooked lamb shoulder with tzatziki, red onions and pearl onions; beef brisket with diijonnaise, rocket & caramelised onion marmalade; spit roast chicken and a range of burgers with names befitting the retro nature of the establishment, including ‘Easy Peasy Nice & Cheesy’.

All menu items are made fresh to order at Helter Skelter and the contemporary takeaway food outlet caters to a wide variety of tastes, offering Halal and gluten free options accompanied by a refreshing salad bar filled with grilled vegetables and nutritious salads.

Craving a burger is one thing. Craving a burger in an American inspired diner located at the heart of Australia’s most iconic theme park is a unique dining experience. Step back into the 1950s as you order a meal and enjoy archetypal streamlined stainless steel finishings accompanied by retro-style features including black, white and red-checked tiles and bubbly staff dressed in similar colour palettes.

Taking its name from the classic Helter Skelter amusement park ride, the red and white striped pillars at the front of Helter Skelter pay homage to the former ride, which included a spiral slide built around a high tower.

Previously known as the Lighthouse Café, the newly re-furbished Helter Skelter restaurant is open to the public Monday to Sunday these school holidays. For more information on Helter Skelter, Luna Park Sydney and everything that’s on these school holidays visit
