Macau Impresses Online Travel Managers

Product and marketing managers from leading Australian online travel portals visited Macau recently to build their product knowledge of this much sought-after east-meets-west destination.

Organised by the Macau Government Tourist Office with support of airline Virgin Atlantic, the four-day familiarisation focused on Macau’s fascinating UNESCO World Heritage listed sites, its colourful attractions and family activities, and the interesting variety of entertainment and cuisine – for the different budgets and tastes.

“The purpose of the tour was to showcase to the online travel services managers the features which make Macau so unique so they can go back home and update their sites product content,” said MGTO (Australia) escort Benjamin Zaubzer.

“They were able to visit the historic sites, explore sections of the four MGTO suggested self-guided walking routes, and sample the food from the streets markets to the high end restaurants.

“For each of the seven guests it was their first visit to Macau and from the general response I received they truly enjoyed the experience in this former Portuguese enclave,” he said.
